If you are Liberal blessed/cursed with the superpower of Memory, you may remember that Thomas Friedman began working as a beloved Sulzberger family house plant in the same year that Dynasty premiered on ABC, NASA launched the first space shuttle and the first DeLorean rolled off the assembly line.
Thomas L. Friedman became the paper’s foreign affairs Op-Ed columnist in 1995. He joined the paper in 1981, after which he served as the Beirut bureau chief in 1982, Jerusalem bureau chief in 1984, and then in Washington as the diplomatic correspondent in 1989, and later the White House correspondent and economic correspondent.
And during that long, long career, Thomas Friedman has racked up a record of being both more egregiously wrong about more big things than anyone I can think of, and more predictably wrong in exactly the same way over and over again than anyone else I can think of.
One of the earliest post I wrote on blog back in 2005 was about Friedman trying to "Both Sides" the Iraq War. And seven years later Friedman was still so very much at the very top of the Being Horribly Wrong About Everything Game that Andy Cobb was moved to make this very fine video:
But of course no matter what he says or does, as long as Friedman remains a beloved Sulzberger family house plant and continues to be protected by his fellow Beltway denizens, he will never be held accountable for any of the ridiculous shit he says.

I saw this tweet last night and in my outrage I was about to respond "At this point, who the fuck thinks Mitch will compromise with ANY Democrat?". But then my Ego took charge back from ID and thought "Heck, it's Thomas Friedman. Why bother?"

Thomas is as unbiased in his politics loyalty to the GOP as Trump claims in public he is the least racist person.
And Grover Norquist forces republicans to sign his pledges that basically was selling their constituents representative trust. Grover is a true non partisan just like Karl Rove.
Thomas could better serve democracy and Americans by taking up a flute and moving to the Andes mountains to learn how to play it and perform from the mountain top to all the creatures of the forest there.

I was wondering out of my far right money padded cave. When I accidently came across this stranger who happened to tell me he knows a friend who knows someone that knows a farmer and how after receiving his latest continuing bail out money check for free. That he was voting republican. He added that this farmer, who was institutionalized into the GOP through GOD, the radio and FOX all his life. Learned that everything that goes wrong or is bad. Is caused by Democrats.
I know he hates socialism and how liberal government giving his money to other people who do not work for it is so angering. Why can't work and earn their own money like him. Hard earned Farm subsidies, Crop insurance, State emergency hay feeding and emergency disaster relief. They work hard and deserve that assistance. Unlike those socialist's who take money from them and give it to other people..
Even though I had never met him before, he went on to surprise me with how the perception from some un American socialists that giving farmers other peoples money is some sort of unearned free lunch. How angry that makes them at those Democrats who are really North Korean socialist Muslim Terrorists.
It is the GOP who deregulate the cost of doing business for personal profit so a poor hard working true Christian American farmer who loves the soil can dump its Hog waste , chemicals into the river to naturally get rid of it . On the unsuspecting stinking democrats and RINOS down river. Cutting those Regs. and operating standards along with keeping the subsidioes to comply with them even after deregging. The farmer can provide consumers with ECOLI, Mad cow and salmonella at a higher price to increase profit.
Thos econsumers without health care can go to emergency rooms and pass on the cost of their treatment for their illness from contaminated frm products to other people instead of having a health care plan affordable for them.
This is a positve economic factor that increases profits for hospitals too.
I was so astonished by how the farmers and GOP carry and support everyone else. How everyone else is a blood sucking money grabber socialist Democrat.
Something the Dem party should change if they want to compete in an oligarchic competition to sellout someone else for profit and power.
I know this because I came across this chap who was very talkative in a spreading the disease sort of friendly way. Who said he knew someone that knew someone that knew Thomas.
And was very amazed at what he said he said.
I was so taken and insured by this nonsense , I just had to write of it to tell you why it is so important Thomas has media access like he does to enlighten all of us.
