Yeah, things have changed. When I was nine, I went to the Navy office building next to the Junior High School and took the NRA hunter safety course from an old dude with a machine shop in his barn who lived down the hill.
You had to pass that back then before they would issue you a hunting license if you were a minor. I received my first firearm, in the form of a single shot 410 shotgun for Christmas that year, and needed a hunting license to accompany my father on his twice yearly pilgrimages to Tule Lake at the Oregon border in the quest to murder a waterfowl.
Never liked the waterfowl much, really, although we had such an abundance of wild goose corpses in the freezer than my mother figured out how to cook them well enough to serve them at holiday meals.
Pheasants were another story entirely, as the hunting of them included the skill and expertise of the dogs, and also I found them tasty.
Anyway, I had a Safe Hunter Certification card in my wallet until I was eighteen and lost it (the wallet) and just never wanted to get another hunting license.
We are kinda isolated out here on this hillside, so we baked up a frozen pizza for thanksgiving, put some chopped up vegetables on it and Zsuzs, who is vegetarian, and Briana and myself had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wrote a comment over at the Field Negro listing things that I was thankful for, which included the imminent departure of each member, by name, of Fergus' cabinet and the circle of felonious morons he has infested the white house with, along with the nomination of Janet Yellen as treasury secretary.
I keep getting emails from Indivisible reminding me that advocacy is still an ongoing concern no matter what the politics have served up, and advising me to prepare for the upcoming policy struggles now, if I want them to seem successful.
We were shopping yesterday, and an old dude came into the little shop we were in without a mask on, and the shopkeeper stopped him and told him he couldn't be in there without a mask on. He lost his shit and called the shopkeeper a dipshit and announced that he was taking his money elsewhere, stormed out of the shop and burned rubber on the way out of the parking lot in his pickup with MAGA and KAG stickers all over it.
The shopkeeper just muttered that nobody else around here would let him in without a mask either.
I got an email from my state assemblyman this morning, and it made me wonder why I didn't get to vote for state assembly this time, so I looked him up, and not only is he a goddamn Republican, he was unopposed this time.
We gotta do better than that, even out here in California there are vast tracts of Republican country, they just mostly don't have very many people in them.
Thank you again for the podcast. I was waiting for someone to make a "Tiny Desk Concert" joke, and sure enough they did. I think it was Jason Isbell on Twitter last night, if I remember correctly.

I have developed a 400 pound stainless steel republican floatation devise. I guarantee it will float a republican to depths where they can be rescued by deep sea submarines.

FOX is refusing to run my marketing advertisements but might have better opportunity with their competitor, OAN.
KOch Industries are interested in purchasing my patent but I think they want it just to warehouse it and put it on ice. So they can eliminate the GOP floatation device competition when lifeboat inventory runs out.

Georgia SGIO senate race campaign rally chant. "reelect Purdue and Loeffler who will inside trade on classified Into and wait for it to trickle down like Reagan did with the Air Traffic Control workers".
GOP Rep. Chris Collins on info he got at White House exclusive visit. While on the White House grounds calls out to inside trade on the spot. Lets his family in on it. Found guilty and confessed in the end to his crime. Received 2 years sentence. Is not a felon seeking to reduce it to a misdemeanor.

Heard of GOP congressional recruitment at the prison gates as releases occur to get them fresh before they have a chance to rehabilitate their lives.

There is nothing worse than using the SWAMP as the free toxic waste dumping site.
