...everything Liberals have been writing over the past [checks notes] several decades.
Today The New York Times boldly speculates that maybe, just maybe, the Republican Party is fucked-in-the-head and will remain fucked-in-the-head long after the head head-fucker-in-charge is removed from office.
What if Trumpism Is the G.O.P.’s Natural State?
Beating Trump would be just the beginning. Democrats would still be confronted with a radical Republican Party.
...
Joe Biden holds a lead in the polls, giving Democrats hope that President Trump will be soundly defeated in November.
That’s the good news. Here’s the bad news: Beating President Trump is just the beginning. If Mr. Biden wins and if Mr. Trump leaves office peacefully — two big ifs — Democrats will be confronted with a more intractable problem: The Republican Party is the party of Donald Trump, and it is not likely to change.
If Mr. Biden wins, there will be a temptation to embrace a big lie: Mr. Trump was the problem, and with him gone, the Republican Party can return to normal. But today’s Republican Party won’t moderate itself, because Trumpism is its natural state. Democrats should avoid the temptation to expect Republican cooperation in governing this country...

If the House impeaches him again wouldn't that drag the Senate back into session? I know we all read ten articles on how that all works back in January. But January was so long ago it doesn't seem real. And doing that wouldn't even be wrong on the merits.
And now we see that the NY Times has transformed into their spanking new "never Republican" costume.
All their past, and ongoing, sins have disappeared into the memory hole.
Here is what they will do, at long last, about Brooks, Friedman, Douthat and the rest of that ilk.
Nothing.
This is the headline:
"What if Trumpism Is the G.O.P.’s Natural State?"
This is the 3rd graf:
"If Mr. Biden wins, there will be a temptation to embrace a big lie: Mr. Trump was the problem, and with him gone, the Republican Party can return to normal. But today’s Republican Party won’t moderate itself, because TRUMPISM IS ITS NATURAL STATE. Democrats should avoid the temptation to expect Republican cooperation in governing this country." (my CAPS)
The writer, Adam Jentleson, was a deputy chief of staff to retired Sen. Harry Reid. Dude KNOWS there's no question (mark) there. Why did the NYT have to pose it as a "What If" question?! Has Brooksie's delusion poisoned the entire editorial staff?
Hey, Grey Lady! HERE's a comment deserving of a question mark: WTF? Seriously...what's wrong with you people?
Well, NY Times, wouldn't that argue that it's not "Trumpism" after all?
Conservatives spent 50 years radicalizing their party, purging people who couldn't get with their program, and turning the Party of Abe into the Party of Ahab.
Trump is not Ahab. Their base is Ahab.
Trump is just the guy who promised Ahab all-you-can-eat White Whale steak dinners for life.
ally oxen free..ding dong trump is dead...
