Professional Left Podcast #544

"I was losing interest in politics, when the repeal of the Missouri Compromise aroused me again. What I have done since then is pretty well known."

I understand what you're saying about attorneys; my mom was a legal secretary for most of thirty years.
Also, on the Biden front, people from the 2008 Obama campaign have said that when they vetted Biden for the VP position nothing about this incident came up, and they were fairly notorious for their thorough vetting.
Briana was playing with our furry little terrorist of a cat a few days ago and he bit her on the finger deep enough that as cat bites sometimes do, it got infected badly enough that Zsuzs drove her down to Fresno to the ER last night.
She just called when she came to after surgery and everything seems to be going well.
They want to keep her another day to see how it goes.
Zsuzs and Briana both asked the hospital about covid and the hospital said that they don't currently have any covid patients.
So I would hereby like to thank San Francisco mayor London Breed and the health director for Santa Clara County for having the (they're both women, so I won't call it balls) courage and wisdom to order the shelter in place before the virus got a foothold in the Bay Area, because if there had been a NYC level epidemic down there, the hospital in Fresno wouldn't be covid free when Briana needed emergency surgery.
That whizzing sound was the bullet we dodged going just over our heads. I mean, so far, she isn't home yet.
Thank you again for the podcast. After I played her the Mr. Electrico story last week, Briana told me that she intends to donate some of her covid money to the podcast when it comes through, and I intend to hold her to it, and I already got her to submit her info to the IRS so they can direct deposit it, so that should be relatively soon.

Because it's funny as hell, I mean, funny as the next new normal.

I am not going to hold you, DG to laying off David Brooks. It is one of those Piccadillo I enjoy. He (the NYT) deserves the criticism bestowed on the soulless shill shell of a excuse of a journalist opinion writer. There is an entire category of Brooks'. from Jonah Goldberg to David frum. Perhaps you take a sabbatical a, then confront anew.

On the Todd and Turr reveling in the midst of the Devos militia in Michigan.
Why doesn't Turr really get into it if she is going to give them air time of day. Exactly what tyope of work do you do? Did the Governor shut down your employer or did your employer do it on it's own? If the Governor said open up, and your employer stayed closed. Would you show up armed and protest your employer? Do you even work? If you can be out and about protesting like this, exactly how is it your freedom is infringed?
Most interesting question, Didn't I see you at all the TEA Peary protests? Where have you been since?

The media is going to want to prove their fairness by hounding Biden over the accusations and probably will run amok. Needing something to provide Trump all the oxygen.

I watched the media giving COR over Obama's birth Certificate, his pastor, Benghazi, the ACA killing Grandma, Emails, and all the great songs of the Confederacy. I just primary voted and Biden is already the candida. Before Trump can raises the Confederate Flag and Hammer and sickle flag at the White House high above the Stars and Stripes.

II" If Biden had Trump at gun point and went full deliverance on the Donald on 5th Avenue in broad daylight". I will still vote for him. Not because he is my fav., not because I think he will move fast decisively and harshly in the direction this country should be headed in (a long time ago), I a voting for him.
Matter of fact, If Biden went all deliverance on Trump in front of the world, it would further my fervor to vote for him more so.
If Biden went deliverance on Pat Robertson too it would cause me to donate more to his campaign simply to give the same gift the evangelicals gave me.

These Freedom militia Libertarians want to be the president withut doing all the work required to get there. You know in their gangss (organiziations). They have their own lines of Authority. They must obey their superiors. Take orders from them. Do Militia stuff they don't like. Some low level militia troops are needed to emppty the outhouses in the field, pay for their own gas to get to the protest. Five yo quality time with their children and put off cleaning their guns while still loaded.

Note how Canada has dealt with mass shootings with assault weapons. It may cause Americans in Canada to return home to the USA to keep their guns. The old adage of God helps those who help themselves comes to mind. Thoughts and Prayers is a nice quaint sentiment but doing something about the problem. makes the words Thoughts and Prayers meaningful.

Why is the White House tours closed? Why aren't courtrooms full of court cases and all the witnesses? It would be a good time for republicans to actually lead and perform face to face town halls.
Personally Trump having his rallies and doing that "lets all get the virus" meets is one thing that can separate the gun from the militia dude.

I know, this could spread it to those undeserving.
