Matthew Dowd is a Fundamentally Ridiculous Person

Matthew Dowd 2020 wants to know why Republicans squander the nation's reserves during good times, leaving us with nothing in reserve for bad times.

You mean the way the Bush/Cheney regime spent eight years pissing away the Clinton budget surplus and landed the country right back in Republican deficit territory that dwarfed the Republican deficits left in the wake of the Reagan-Bush I years?

Yes, that is an excellent question!  Perhaps Matthew Dowd 2020 should address that question to Matthew Dowd 2004 who some of us (but apparently now Matthew Dowd) remember as the chief campaign strategist for Bush-Cheney 2004 and director of polling and media planning for Bush-Cheney 2000:
Matthew Dowd was the chief campaign strategist for Bush-Cheney 2004 and director of polling and media planning for Bush-Cheney 2000. Here, he describes how, even as the Florida recount was progressing, he and Karl Rove were already thinking about a re-election campaign in the event that Bush won...

You have used The Masque of the Red Death to make a point on the podcast a few times. The Coronavirus case at CPAC is really on the nose.

It's fundamentally ridiculous to attribute to Dodd any interest in the country or the economy or any fucking "we". Those things are just symbols to Dodd who lives on a higher plane. To stand above it all and manipulate. Manipulate for what? To win. That's it.

WOW Dowd!

I think Dowd's surplus question is about several Reagans too late.

If Dowd is unable to address the economic facts of Reagan, Cheney and GW Bush and Trump (The GOP in general) Where is his TEA Party ?
Is Dowd now promoting big Government?
Most of all, Dowd sounds very concerned their might not be enough money to bail out his losses in the collapsing market. His employment too?

Let me ease Dowd's trougled mind. What he is worried about is a liberal hoax. And, Cheney says deficits don't matter.
