OK, I'm of two minds about the state of the Republican electorate: while you're correct that it is a willful decision to consume right wing propaganda every time it is consumed, to imagine any of them clicking away from OAN to fact check the lie du jour is to misunderstand the nature of addiction. Having been a rock musician for forty years with a brother who was a biker, I've seen a lot of addiction, and right wing "news" consumers do bear a strong resemblance to speed freaks.
Luckily for us, either way it doesn't really matter, they can't be reasoned with, aren't going to behave in any manner that can be influenced politically, and can only be relied upon to support the destruction of decent society.
Spending a lot of effort on trying to understand them beyond being able to predict their political behavior is a waste of time in an "all hands on deck" situation.
Who is trying to make sure they all have access to health care? We are.
Speaking of which, I got an appointment with a local doctor literally the day my medication runs out, and I got registered to vote by mail at our new address this week.
Do take care of yourselves, we need you.
And thank you again for the podcast. Having known the events of this week were basically inevitable didn't do that much to blunt their impact, and sanity is indeed at a premium right now.
