I Have Seen the Future of Elite American Political Reporting

It's a split screen.

On one side is Donald Trump standing on top of a pile of skulls, waving a machete and bellowing "Cleanse!!" to a mob of torch wielding economic anxiety sufferers.

The other side will feature panel of "experts" breaking down every phoneme of something as trivial and ultimately meaningless as the brief, post-debate exchange between Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren ("Shake-Gate!!!") as it if were the fucking Zapruder film.  And it will go a little something like this (actual headlines):
CNN:  Exclusive: Warren accused Sanders in tense post-debate exchange of calling her a 'liar' on national TV

CNN:   Audio reveals tense confrontation between Warren and Sanders

CNN:  Watch tense exchange between Warren and Sanders

Fox News: Michael Moore slams Elizabeth Warren for Bernie Sanders comments, claims she’s helping Trump’s re-election

Fox News:  Audio released of testy post-debate exchange between ...

The NYT:  Warren Told Sanders After Debate...

The WaPo:  Warren-Sanders rift worries Democratic leaders

CNN:  Steyer on 'awkward moment' between Warren and Sanders

CNN:  Late-night hosts take on the Warren.Sanders spat...

CBS: Tense Warren, Sanders moment caught on mic...

The Today Show:  Warren Appears To Refuse...

Guardian News:  Warren Appears To Snub...
This will be done in the name of "balance" and the corporate executives who run the American media will take a break from counting ratings and profits just long enough to pretend to genuinely not understand why anyone has a problem with this.

Behold, a Tip Jar!

The press tries to boost ratings.

The WWF (WTF) world title bout. A must watch. Tickets on sale now.

What little divides between the D candidates is not enough for a rumble. Let alone a title match.

But hey, If it daws in more eyeballs . If that is what it takes to gain more interest. OK.
I do not wish to watch a republican primary debate where they spit and toss their feces at each other and the winner is the one who has the most feces and the best throwing arm to fling it.

I would like to hear more about what the candidates will actually do within their legal bounds of the presidency.

There wil not be a republican primary debate, at least on the national elections. Maybe - maybe - after Trump is gone, but not until then. No repub has the courage to face him down.
