Jeff Zucker Is Every Bit The Monster That Roger Ailes Was

Jeff Zucker is currently the president of CNN Worldwide.

More than almost anyone else, Jeff Zucker is responsible for the rise of Donald Trump from sleazy New York real-estate scumbag, serial adulterer, sexual predator and Russian sock puppet to president of the United States.  

And Jeff Zucker did it all for ratings.

It was Zucker, after all, who as the new head of NBC Entertainment gave Trump his start in reality TV with “The Apprentice” and then milked the real estate developer’s uncanny knack for success for all it was worth in ratings and profits.

Ten years later, it was Zucker, now the head of CNN, who gave Trump astonishing amounts of free exposure in the Republican presidential primary on the cable network, continually blasting out his speeches and rallies — often unfiltered and without critical fact-checking.

“It’s a not-unfair knock on CNN to say that they went all in on Trump and helped him enormously,” Ken Lerer, co-founder of the Huffington Post and BuzzFeed, said in a recent onstage interview at City University of New York’s journalism school. “I think it was a strategy, a programming strategy.”...

Yesterday, freelance Trump thug and former CNN contributor, Corey Lewandowski, took his tiny dick out on live teevee and waved it at the House Judiciary committee while Republican members of that committee hooted and hollered and cheered him on.  During his performance he said out loud that of course he lies to the public and the press all the time because fuck 'em.

Then he announced his intention to get Republican meatbags to send him lots and lots of money so that he can run for the United States Senate.

So if you are furious that CNN handed Corey Lewandowski 16 minutes of free air time today -- and you damn well should be -- Jeff Zucker is the man at whom you should be directing your fury. Because Jeff Zucker is the man who turned putting ghouls and liars on teevee and calling it "news" into CNN's business model. 

Jeff Zucker is, in his own way, every bit the monster that Roger Ailes was: another media mogul  who helped torch American democracy because it was good for ratings.
