It Is a Law of Political Media Physicists...

...that the closer the Party of Bigots and Imbeciles gets to the Mighty Trash Compactor of History, the louder the architects and royalty of that party prattle about the need for civility and not judging people like them.

Here is a sample platter.

From NPR:
To Honor John McCain, His Wife Says, Americans Could Be Nicer To One Another

...
"I know the party. Our party, like the Democratic Party, is a good party. We just disagree," she says. "There's problems on both sides."...
From WNYC:
Chris 'Sit Down and Shut Up' Christie Creates Think Tank Centered on Civility
From The Nation:
Democrats Don’t Need David Brooks
Appealing to Never Trump Republicans would cost Democrats their base.
...

Instead of capitalism, Brooks believes Democrats should be talking about civility. “Trump is a disrupter,” Brooks states. “He rips to shreds the codes of politeness, decency, honesty and fidelity, and so renders society a savage world of dog eat dog. Democrats spend very little time making this case because defending tradition, manners and civility sometimes cuts against the modern progressive temper.”
From Politico:
Gaetz calls for civility; says he must do better on social media

TALLAHASSEE — U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican and one of President Donald Trump’s most ardent defenders, made a pitch for civility Monday on a Pensacola radio station after telling listeners he wasn't meeting with them in person on advice from Capitol Police...
Pulling randomly from my own archives we find me writing about Mikey Smerconish a couple of years ago.
The tone police
They live on cable teevee
The tone police
They're paid to shush and decree
The tone police
They're coming to denounce me
Oh no...

Last year's Very Special Episode of "Tone Cop!" with Bret Stephens:

Which was a virtual rerun of a Very Special Episode of "Tone Cop!" with Michael Gerson:

The rot runs right down to my local paper, which saw fit to lecture its readers on the importance of civility while at the same time proudly syndicating Ann Coulter:
Today In "Looking With Alarm" News: Local Publisher Calls For Civility!

Civility Hectoring and Tone Policing are the twin bastards of Beltway Both Siderism -- Straw Men to be marched onto the battlefield whenever Liberals dare to punch back against the madness, racism and lies of the Party of Bigots and Imbeciles.

I saw a comment on another site last week about "social opprobrium". The commenter's point was that Republicans complain it about so much because they know it works, and that therefore we should direct more of it at them. I'm in total agreement. Shame them, and ridicule their Cult Leader. Every chance we get.

When one of the republicans required talents is "the lost art of fiscal responsibility"

They now claim to be, Constitutional conservatives. It is a simple action to just change your life's stated moral stance. Just become something else in the moment.

" "I know the party. Our party, like the Democratic Party, is a good party. We just disagree," she says. "There's problems on both sides."...

Neither side believes tax cuts for the rich on the backs of tax payers will truckle down from the wealthy everyone money was redistributed to.

But one side is willing to redistribute money to the wealthy who donate to them to get reelected.
The other side does not see the economic justification that it will improve economy for (all, most) Americans.

We just have "disagreements.

Take bail out socialism for Wall Street masters of the business universe that are so smart. They ran their banks into collapse. The required government to purchase them bail out boot straps.
For everyone else. Small government requires you to figure out a way to get your own boot straps after having your life's savings stripped from you. Damn socialists looking for government for help? Davey Crockett or author Ay Rand never looked to government for help.

I notice on the issues where the disagreement lies most always is omitted. because one position doesn't make any reasonable sense and the other (might not be the silver bullet) but does improve the problem.

It is the adage, if your cut and bleeding out profusely and only have a tiny bandaid that is inadequate to stop the bleeding.

A) Just go ahead and bleed to death. B) apply pressure and seek medical attention.

"Unfettered capitalism"
"Venture capitalism"
"Trickle down economics"
"Small Government policy"
"the lost art of fiscal responsibility" republican style hypocrisy and lying.

They all lead to "Where did my/our tax money go?"

It started basically with lying occasionally by Reagan to full time republican party lying all the time by Trump. Supported by "both siderism" justification.

Leading to, I guess, "So what? Economics", where the 1% has taken all the money from the remaining 99%. Leading to no tax revenue to be had and then to no government at all.

Whoopee! Ain't life grand.

I forgot to add the "Milton Friedman unfettered trickle down" combination that led to the republican "catheter bag option" to catch any down trickle before it reached the "little people".
