Laura Ingraham, Yesterday

Ramesh Ponnuru, 13 years ago

Thirteen years later, we find that Mr. Ponnuru is enjoying Wingnut Welfare life with all the trimmings.  Frequent guest appearances on MSNBC, PBS and the Sunday shows.  Wikipedia tells us that "Ponnuru is a past contributor to Time and WashingtonPost.com and has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Newsday, New York Post, The Weekly Standard, Policy Review, The New Republic, and First Things."

Living the dream.

Because, on the Right, clawing your way up the career ladder via bomb-throwing, hippie-punching slander is a time-honored tradition and -- most importantly -- one which the mainstream media never demands they pay any lasting price.

Which is why, if nothing fundamental changes in our basic media ecosystem, within five years I would not be surprised to see Laura Ingraham with an op-ed gig in the Washington Post, and a semi-permanent seat on "Morning Joe".

Behold, a Tip Jar!
