Professional Left Podcast #471

“Richard Nixon is a no good, lying bastard. He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time, and if he ever caught himself telling the truth, he'd lie just to keep his hand in."

But are Trump's best people making the best and greatest pleas?

Know we know Mulvany is on the best people short list to leave.

I wrote a letter to Snta at the North Pole.

Asking him if Trump would pick my republican senator or House Rep. as COS..

How he would box and wrap it. Get it under the Tree? That is why he is Santa.

I figure you saw the Lemon/ Cuomo Detante
I think when corporate entities began their war on the middle lass.
They realized controlling media, fucking the hearts and minds was an advantage to be abused. Hey, besides, It works for Putin and China.

You touched on this and it stuck out as an Omen that they damn well know.
On the CNN pass off from Cuomo to Lemon

Don Lemon -- "Oh, my God, Chris." , (Cuomo)
Lemon: "You know, let's talk about this.

Life time appointment. Like Newt, Santorum, and all the glorious bastards From SCOTUS to the Cable company that hold an easement on “your” property. Place a junction box in your yard. Force me to pay the property taxes on their easement owned property. Can enter your property whenever they deem needed to access their easement.
Newt and the cable company have life time easements to invade my personal freedom and property. Not even that wasp spray that shoots for 15 feet does not prevent it.

Until they change the rule , You can't take it with you when you go". There is a day an end to Newt will cease. (may survive in reruns and impersonators), is that Fear itself I fear..

OK, the bit about the hospital got me going, because I get my healthcare at Highland Hospital, and I love them.
They are a county hospital and as they themselves put it, a resource of the last resort.
There is a movie about them made by my speech pathologist's husband as part of the outreach funded by the ACA called "The Waiting Room" that tells the stories of some of the patients in the somewhat infamous waiting room of Highland's ER.
One of those patients, a man picked up off of a sidewalk in respiratory distress, who had meth, cocaine, marijuana and alcohol in his blood, who was a repeat patient who was often in trouble with the religious transitional housing where he lived, was on a gurney in a hallway, waiting to either be admitted or kicked back out onto the street that he had been picked up off of.
The ER doctor discusses his case on camera, and notes the 40 or so people in the waiting room who were all waiting for his department's attention, and how many of them might react to having him before them in the line, given the quasi-habitual nature of his presence there.
Meanwhile, a social worker is on the phone with the director of the transitional housing, trying to talk them into taking him back so they don't have to just kick him out with nowhere to go.
They finally end up admitting him for the night, because, as doctors, they have to allow for any real health problem he was experiencing regardless of what may or may not have brought them about or what the "optics" of doing so were.
It's a fascinating film that plays out in real time all day every day in a place where they just try to help the often desperate clientele who just don't have anywhere else to turn.
My primary care doctor works there, and when I went blind a few years ago, I got my cataract surgery there, and right now, facing a need to move somewhere soon, they are helping me search for affordable housing.
Oh yeah, and they are a teaching hospital that offers some of the finest care available anywhere, leading aspiring doctors to want to intern there for the top-flight, real world experience it provides in caring for a population that because of their poverty, often display extreme versions of the symptoms of normally everyday health problems.
And if you get shot by a gun, they are definitely where you want the ambulance to take you.
Their jobs would be so much easier if we looked after the poorest among is just a little better, and the movie notes how much better they would be able to care for the actual medical emergencies if more people had the sort of health insurance that let them see an ordinary doctor for their blood pressure meds and that kind of common health care that the lack of insurance was funneling into their ER.
Thank you again for the podcast. My computer genius friend Nathan fixed my poor, decrepit laptop for my birthday just in time for me to listen to it, and I find the humor that seems to fuel your take on the out-and-proud evil being sold by Fergus and his felons to be uplifting.

Just wanted to make you aware, if you weren't already, of George Packer of the Atlantic basically saying you don't exist. 2nd sentence before the last paragraph. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2018/12/how-did-republican-party-get-so-corrupt/578095/-John H.

What do y'all think of Kurt Bardella? Is he a never Trumper who is gonna go scurrying back to the GOP in a few years or is it a genuine conversion?

In the bi partisan spirit I have seen the GOPers offering Dems all that great advise on how to keep the House. How they should call off all the Witch hunters.
Just out, Let the republicans fund their own damn Wall. Providing they can get by landowner lawsuits to build.

Here is my bipartisan advise for those republicans that hate me.

You want Voter ID???
OK, let's pass voter ID laws for Republicans ONly>>!
