“Methought I heard a voice cry 'Sleep no more!
Macbeth does murder sleep'...."

You probably already know this, but the audio got cut off right at the gourmet coffee guideline point.
OK, yes, we did amazingly well in the election on Tuesday. Kurt Eichenwald's explanation of it on Twitter was uplifting and informative. We have more of the same work to do, but we always have that.

Right now, the sun is a dull, orange, disk in what would be a cloudless sky were it not for the smoke that used to be people's houses on the other side of Chico.
"The most destructive fire in California's history" just basically incinerated a town called Paradise, which was roughly the same size as Eureka was when I grew up there.
Just like last year's fire that came within two blocks of my sister's house was the most destructive fire in California's history as of last year.
Then, this morning, our dull, orange, president said that he's considering cutting off disaster funding if California doesn't do something about the mismanagement of its forests, which he insinuated was the cause of these expensive wildfires.
My father worked for the US Forest Service in northern California for thirty years, and I'm finding it a little difficult to avoid wanting to whack our dull, orange, president with my cane, but managing well under the circumstances.
Whacking Fergus would not help, so I will not either whack him, nor waste too much time imagining him being whacked, as it is a pointless exercise.
Doing my dead, level, legal best to make sure he doesn't win his election in 2020 is far more sane and helpful, as far as I can tell.
Thank you again for the podcast, and I'd like to say that I really enjoyed the happiness in the tone this week.
Oh, and I almost forgot: A blogger I read is an attorney in Houston, and he said that it wasn't just the "Houston 19" but "Every county-wide seat went Democrat on Tuesday, including all 75 judicial positions. After about two decades where no Democrat was in any county-wide seat."
His name is Harry Hamid and he's a good blogger and a good man and I was really glad to have him answer my question about them when he is in such a uniquely good position to know.
-Doug in Oakland
MY republican re elected House member.
Who aired ads of,
- My Democrat opponent will vote with Nancy Pelosi.
- We must be civil, excuse me while I actually go to Iowa Trump rally and chant "lock her up".
-In the GOP majority I have worked across the aisle to try and make Democrats vote like republicans for extreme republican issues.
Now that he is heading back to Congress but in the minority. Not with my vote.
Will he now stand on his civil principals of bi partisanship and work across the aisle?
Will he now do as he accused his opponent. Vote with Nancy Pelosi to get things done??? !!!
Whispers in the frigid winter winds bring promises of good old GOP obstructionism
Will the media call out the GOP for obstruction or are they going to rant on Democrats to concede to GOP demands?????
We all know the answer to this........... Because we are all psychics now.
