On The Occasion of Joe Scarborough Admitting That The Left Was Right About The Right All Along...

...(h/t the mighty Crooks & Liars) during a panel discussion featuring an entire parade of Republican horribles who have spent their entire adult lives creating the Republican monster factory that produced Trump and now swear that none of them ever had the slightest fucking idea what was really going on inside their Republican Party...

...Rick Wilson finally blocked me on The Twitter for the egregious sin of pointing out over and over again that the Left has been right about the Right all along.

Rick Wilson will spend endless hours amusing himself online punching down at mentally underclocking MAGA stumblebums with 10 followers.   Rick Wilson will while away even more hours online calling Respected Blue Check Republican rage monsters funny names.  But Rick Wilson has never had the guts to field any of the pointed and obvious questions I have sent his way over the past couple of years. Questions about his culpability for the madness he now pretends he had no hand in.  Questions about the ethics of looting the Liberal critique of the GOP from 1998 and selling it back to credulous Centrists as breathless epiphany in 2018.

You know, stuff like that.

This is the lifeboat we all said the Brain Caste of the GOP would build for itself to preserve their careers and privileges.  This is what it looks like -- a Mercedes SL-Class version of the old, reliable Bush Off Machine, now re-purposed for the Age of Trump.  And they don't want any Libtard troublemakers with long memories and inconvenient questions fucking it up for them.

And so, for asking these very basic questions on behalf of every Libtard who has been slandered as an America-hating coward and traitor and moonbat for decades for the unpardonable sin of being right about the Right all along, Mr. Wilson has now joined Matthew Dowd, Charlie Sykes and Jonah Goldberg in blocking me.

And I can think of no more perfect way to end my birthday fundraiser that that :-)

Your pal,

driftglass

I caught Morn Joey over at C&L. Right after chocking up a cats fur ball. Taking a moment to absorb the snot on the door knob left by all these conservative bile Sayers.
Scary is surprised there are republicans in the republican party. His time in Congress, he never crossed paths with a GOP colleague from Jim Crow University?
Joey promoted Trump during the campaign daily for free?

Sykes promoted (for a profit) all the turd nuts in Wisconsin to reward Scot Walker with governor dictatorial powers he so promised he would inflict on his state. Sykes's on radio listener following turned on him. He was not white supremacist enough to be a conservative. Purged into republican liberal light purgatory. Facing a career change, does Sykes go to his Mecca, "FOX"?
And Tick Wilson does not fit the FOX news model criteria. Oh yes, I have heard this sentiment from republicans I know. They tell me, "The FOX news babes are so sexy, they want to have an affair with one (or another) outside their marriage. It doesn't matter what the news model says or how stupid she sounds reading Alex Jones type conspiracy off the tel prompter. It is a babe looking sexy (ready to fuck) and she is conservative because she is on the FOX TV.

these republican movement leaders are responsible for turd-nuts finding their nerve to a Veteran *as Me) that they are a patriot and I need to move out because it is I, who does not love my country. What branch of service did they serve their country I would ask? The excuses of not serving ranged from a toe hang nail to sort of never being drafted to serve..

I need to ask,
What did Joey, Sykes or Wilson state now presently on their air time. What is their remedy? Remedy for the ugly base the wealthy has commuted to indoctrinating for over 30 years.

It is the wealthy masters of the universe who so desperately need this turn nut base. Who spent hundreds of millions nurturing it. It all comes down to the American Constitution's first few words of the Preamble.
"We the People".
How they so needed Citizens united ruling to purchase government and over ride the constitution. One of the very things they so indoctrinate their turd base nursery farm with is t, there is only one amendment. Yeah, the 2nd amendment.
Their big tax cuts, whent to George Soros. The left used the right to Bear Arms and defend against government tyranny against Steve Scalise. The left is not allowed to nominate and have consideration of any judges to be confirmed.
Free loading republicans can work in a union shop for free. Religious republican cake bakers can deny public service and discriminate today, and firemen, Police and doctors may discriminate against their pet prejudiced people soon. make sure you have your GOP christian white supremacist ID card if you end up in the emergency room. Along with your health care card.

Again, What is their resolve? Now that admitting has blurted out of their asses like a uncontrolled diahrea release?

As I posted at Crooks and Liars, they say football is a game of inches, but apparently politics is too cause:

What would Joey Joe Joe be saying if President Stupid hadn't insulted his girlfriend?

What would Rick "Tea Party" Wilson be saying if he hadn't bet the wrong horse during the primaries?

The same could largely be said for the rest of Never Trump nation...DC courtiers who were expecting promotions until the zombie-base they created tossed aside their "centrist" candidates in favor of the most famous FoxNews viewer in the world.

I tried to post at C&L that "What we need to do next" is show the bigots the door, but found I had been blocked. Guess I won't be commenting there for a while...

Your relentless attacks on "both siderism"

are leaving marks on society at large,

as in mainstream media, Morning Joe.

I give you credit for that massive lift.

It's been an amazing, if single-handed assault on bullshit.

(let's not bring Greenwald into it...)

You've done frankly amazing work

and I sense it's getting thru.

FWIW.

The aristocracy is, and has always been, a parasite on the back of humanity, but unlike most parasites they have the ability to not kill the host and survive. But as we’re seeing they still refuse to acknowledge the fact. They continue to want everything, and will continue to kill the host/golden goose until stopped. They fail to understand that eventually they will die when the host dies, or that the host will neutralize the parasite when it realizes that the parasite is killing them.

That's my two cents for the day.

So, now that it has been a few days since the Morn Joey, Sykes and Wilson admital revival.

Where have they taken that sentiment since"

Are they standing firm on their claims on that one day or have they moved on to other more hopes of higher ratings material?

This Joey admittance thingee is not working for me.

I am not buying in that after speaking those words of a little self awareness that they are in fact contributors to that in which they now espouse as dangerous.
That this gives them the credibility to listen to seriously on anything now.

Steve Schmidt was on All In With Chris Hayes the other night. When Hayes simply asked him, "How did we get here?" referring to Trump's provoking of violence, Schmidt completely sidestepped that question. "Well, however we got here, we're here..." and then attacked Trump and his enablers, quite rightly.
But that "Well, however we got here, we're here" line is just so typical. Decades of dog whistle politics, "law and order", "welfare chiselers" ... I guess none of that actually happened.
Who am I going to believe, these "Never Trumpers" or my own lying eyes ... and memory?

Happy Birthday Driftglass
I shouldn't encourage your weird obsession with David Brooks, but this is too good to pass up. Looking forward to your post tomorrow.

"If everybody in red states voted for their Democratic candidates and everybody in a blue state voted for their Republican candidates we’d have a much better Congress."

If you're not following David Simon (The Wire) on Twitter, check out Monday night's exchange with some "Jews" trying to shame him for bashing Trump. Too funny. Bette Midler even makes a cameo appearance. That guy could f-bomb you back to a G rating.

Reporting in to the Corn field resistance, HQ.
I voted absentee ballot and it felt good.

One of my sons that lives nearby has voted ever since eligible.

This year, I wrangled 2 of my sons friends (in late 20s) to vote for the first time.
Damn if they did not come over to fill out their ballots. No, I did not let them copy or tell them who to vote for. I did play the answer man for questions. Had them look things up on their google. I even provided opinion when asked and the whys of my opinion. when asked.
Didn't look at their vote casting.

But two people that hadn't voted before have voted for the first time.
They did tell me it wasn't as hard as they thought with exceptions.
Add two more to the voting fanchise this year.
May the vote be with you.................

I sure am glad you extend this Scarborough exscoriation. It gives us slow movers a chance to keep up.

So I bring two Wayne Madsen reports, one from 2010, one from 2012, about Scar-boo at twilght in the summer of 2001. I bring it justly so he is repulsive on TV. If I wished TV to fail I'd feature him on it.

It's a long read so without further I-do or I-don't, WMR, as Jack Anderson on steroids, able to leap Woodward snd Berstein in a single newscycle.

January 20, 2010 -- Warming up a "cold case" -- the suspicious death of Lori Klausutis

On July 20, 2001, the constituent service coordinator for then-U.S. Representative Joe Scarborough (R-FL), Lori Klausutis, was found dead in Scarborough's district office in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The 28-year old Klausutis, who was hailed from Niceville, Florida and was married to an engineer who worked on U.S. missile targeting systems, was a marathon runner who was reportedly in excellent health. The immediate conclusion of medical examiner Michael Berkland prior to an autopsy was that Klausutis, whose body was discovered by some visiting constituents may have suffered from "prior health problems." Berkland had previously served as a medical examiner in Missouri but lost his medical license in that state after he was found to have made false statements in inquests.

However, there are inconsistencies about when Klausutis arrived at the office. Some reports stated she was found by the constituents at 8 am and may have either arrived at the office a few minutes earlier or had been in the office overnight.

Berkland eventually concluded that Klausutis died from an "undiagnosed heart condition" that resulted in her fainting in the office and hitting her head on the side of the desk resulting in "an acute subdural hematoma, or a blood clot, that resulted from a closed head trauma." In fact, Klausutis suffered two massive skull fractures. The police agreed with Berkland that there was no foul play involved in Klausutis's death.

However, a mail carrier who visited Scarborough's office on Thursday, July 19, said Klausutis, who was normally so upbeat she was called "Little Miss Mary Sunshine," appeared nervous and that she said she was not feeling well. The only reported prescription drug Klausutis was taking was acne medication.

Within hours of Klausutis's death, Scarborough was trying to convince Pensacola TV stations that his aide suffered from a history of strokes and epilepsy. Scarborough revealed the information to the TV stations even before Klausutis's family had been notified of her death.

Scarborough, who now co-hosts the "Morning Joe" program with Mika Brzezinski on MS-NBC, had announced he was resigning his House seat in June 2001 after being elected to his fourth term in November 2000. Scarborough's reason for resigning was the standard "spend more time with my family" excuse any time a politician is caught up in a scandal. Scarborough's resigned from the House on September 5, 2001, just six days before another event would overshadow rumors that the cause of Klausutis's death was far from what Berkland concluded. In fact, Berkland later revealed that both a scratch and a bruise had been found on Klausutis's body.

Scarborough was said to have been in Washington when his aide died in Florida and was traveling back to Florida late on July 20, a Friday night. The House had been in session during Friday. Scarborough had no immediate comment on the death of his aide who had worked for him since May 1999 in his Fort Walton Beach office. In April 1999, Scarborough's divorce from his wife Melanie was finalized.

Case closed on Scarborough? Not quite.

______ 2/3 ________snip

Not quite.

Scarborough attended the University of Alabama from 1981 to 1985 where he eventually ran for student body president as the anti-fraternity and sorority candidate who vowed to abolish student government if he won. Scarborough lost but his story about his student days in Tuscaloosa are not exactly correct according to those who attended the University of Alabama the same years that Scarborough was a student.

"Scarborough drove around campus in a Jeep that belonged to his frat house and he was definitely the 'big man on campus,'" recalled one former classmate who spoke to WMR. Scarborough's public aversion to sororities also apparently did not extend to his sexual interests. WMR has learned that Scarborough was well known as someone who dated sorority members and was known by many to be "rough" at sex. The stories about Scarborough's "well-endowed" attribute were known to a number of sorority sisters but so was his threats if those he dated complained about his being rough and forcing himself in what could now be construed as "date rape." "Scarborough threatened my sorority sisters who said they would report him to the university officials," said one former University of Alabama sorority member who was a student at the University of Alabama at the same time Scarborough attended and who requested anonymity. Scarborough, according to the source, would tell distressed women that he had been rough with, "what are you going to do about it?"

Allegations of possible foul play surfaced in 2006 when Florida Republicans were urging Scarborough to enter the U.S. Senate primary race against Representative Katherine Harris, who was considered a sure loser against Democrat Bill Nelson. The Miami Herald reported that Harris was overheard telling Collier Merrill, a Pensacola developer, that if Scarborough entered the primary race against her, he would have problems when "they start asking questions about that dead girl," a reference to Klausutis. In fact, it was also reported that Harris told more than one GOP donor her opinion of Scarborough entering the primary, "I don't know what he's thinking when he's got this whole issue of a dead intern on his hands."

On May 29, 2003, Scarborough appeared on the Don Imus radio and TV program, the latter then aired by MS-NBC, which had hired Scarborough as a host. Imus said Scarborough had told him that he was not in Congress any longer because he "had sex with the intern" and then "had to kill her." Scarborough replied to Imus, "Yeah, well, what are you gonna do?"

Sounds familiar. Based on the information from co-eds at the University of Alabama from 1981 to 1985, there is a clear need to reopen the "cold case" on the suspicious death of Lori Klausutis. Even the long-forgotten Katherine Harris, if she knows something as she previously alleged about Scarborough could help in uncovering what could have been a major criminal cover-up by a then-sitting member of Congress.

September 11-12, 2012 -- Medical examiner suspected in earlier cover-up of murder arrested

Dr. Michael Berkland, the former medical examiner for District 1 in Pensacola, Florida, was arrested on September 7 for storing decaying human body parts in a rental storage unit. The human remains, from autopsies conducted by Berkland between 1997 and 2007, Berkland was fired by Pensacola in 2003 for failing to complete autopsies and he lost his license as a Florida medical examiner. Earlier, in 1996, Berkland was fired as a medical examiner for Jackson County, Missouri for incomplete autopsies and his medical license was revoked in Missouri. Berkland's license as a Florida Medical Examiner was suspended in 1999.

However, Berkland's suspension was later lifted by Dr. Stephen Nelson, the Chairman of the Medical Examiners Commission. Nelson was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush.

Berkland was the Okaloosa County Associate Medical Examiner who concluded in 2001 that Lori Kalusutis, the 28-year old legislative aide to then-U.S. Congressman Joe Scarborough, died as a result of cardiac arrhythmia that rendered her unconscious, resulting in her striking her head on a desk in Scarborough's Fort Walton Beach district office. Berkland concluded that a blood clot formed in Klausutis's brain after she struck her head on the side of the desk and that the clot caused her death.

Klausutis was in Scarborough's office the evening of Thursday, July 19, 2001 and it is believed she fell between pm 4:45, when she phoned "an associate" and the office closing time of 5:00 pm. Klausutis's body was not discovered until 8 am the next morning, July 20, by two constituents who had an appointment.

Berkland originally told the media that no signs of trauma on Klausutis's body. However, on August 6, he changed his story and admitted that a "scratch and bruise" were discovered on Klausutis's head. Berkland said he earlier denied evidence of trauma because he did not want to help generate speculation about Klausutis's death. Berkland told the Northwest Florida Daily News, "The last thing we wanted was 40 questions about a head injury."

The two people who originally proffered the notion that Klausutis had a chronic medical condition that resulted in her fall were Scarborough and his press aide, Michael Serrano. Scarborough claimed he was in Washington when Klausutis died and was traveling back to Florida late on the night of Friday, July 20.

It is clear that Berkland, whose judgment as a medical examiner resulted in sanctions from two states -- Missouri and Florida -- was covering up for Scarborough, a rising star in House Republican ranks.

Time to re-open the Klausutis case as a probable murder.

On May 25, 2001, Scarborough announced that he would be resigning from Congress to "spend more time" with his two sons. Scarborough, who was divorced, had been awarded custody of his two sons. As WMR reported on January 20, 2010, Scarborough's resignation was effective on September 5, 2001, just six days before another event would overshadow rumors that the cause of Klausutis's death was far from what Berkland concluded.

Today, Scarborough co-hosts the Morning Joe show with Zbigniew Brzezinski's daughter, Mika Brzezinski, on MS-NBC.

I saw that bit with Scarborough on C&L and I had a feeling you'd have a post on it DG. I'm an armchair activist (most of the time) and as informed as I am about issues I'm not a commentator, blogger, youtuber, etc so my engagement with politics is mostly on a personal level. But you and BG live this and feel it at a level much deeper than I think I do so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to see someone like Scarborough or Sykes or Frum or any of the others that, because of Trump, have had a come to jesus moment about the republican party...and STILL get mainstream media air time to talk about it and be APPLAUDED for it when they should be shunned and shuttered away along with the rest of the right wing enablers that deserve nothing less than to be exiled from polite society to start their fetishized Galt Gulch fairyland somewhere in the jungles of South America. I can really only imagine the anger you must harbor towards these fathead pricks but still, I hope some day you get yourself on the teevee or some other high profile media platform. You certainly deserve it.
