From Axios this morning just in time to disrupt the implosion of the Brett Kavanaugh shitshow:
Exclusive: Rod Rosenstein offered to resign
Then the dam burst:

Rosenstein is out.— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) September 24, 2018
This is going to get loud, fast.
But surprise! Turns out, none of this actually happened:
If democracy dies in darkness, it'll be in no small part because the Beltway media smothered it with the decorative First Amendment throw pillow it keeps around the office to impress the rubes.I'm deleting *all* my Rosenstein tweets w/ links to articles b/c ALL the headlines are inaccurate. Strikingly, there are inaccurate headlines from *multiple* news sources.— Mangy Jay (@magi_jay) September 24, 2018
Some news orgs *really* screwed up this morning & I hope it doesn't have consequences. pic.twitter.com/z3WeYUk50o
Gabe Sherman reports that the Rosenstein leak appears to have been a "smoke bomb" to knock Kavanaugh out of the news. “The strategy was to try and do something really big,” said a source familiar with Trump's thinking. https://t.co/wWRGXJZBHA

Russian-Republican net "Botts-ery" . Now reporting on predictions from the psychic hot lines.
There has been many assertions made for a while over the Deputy Attny General.
They all seem geared to discredit him. A building block for the apprentice president to fire him. Just like he did on TV.
Obviously programming a conniving construct to fire him , "because of that "Russ'er thing".
It is like bolstering the statesmanship of Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate. Reading Dr. Seuss.
Why doesn't Ted Cruz make an election ad for his re election out of that?
It is who he is and he is proud of it.
Smack at the level of the GOP base to have fondness for Dr. Seuss readings, without comprehending the story. But the pictures of the books say it all.
Come to think of it, there hasn't been much about Manafort or Cohen on the "news" either.
I keep wanting to defend the news media from Fergus' attacks, but they really don't make it easy with bullshit like this.
Either way Fergus wins on this one. Amid the distraction, if the DAG gets fired, he gets what he wants, if the DAG doesn't get fired, then all news is fake, just like he says it is.
Why is this reminding me of 2016?

Yeah, but the first salvo of distractory bullshite was from the erstwhile journalists (aka journamilists, journihilists) who reported that Posie wanted to wear a wire so as to enable Article 25 retirement of the vulgarian.
Another time that the NY Times has stepped up to help the gd Republicans.
And the defense will be yet again "But this administration puts out just...so....much...we can't keep any one thing in this modern news cycle for long!"
To which a fowl mouthed liberal says "ah...what about Benghazi you fuckers?!?"
