I See Jonathan Chait is a Fan

I was reading Mr. Chait's column today on the subject of Mr. David Brooks of The New York Times to see if any of it required my attention (it does, but nothing I haven't already written about 1,000 times) when this paragraph caught my eye:
One might entertain the conclusion that no combination of facts and logic can dislodge the Republican base from its tribal loyalties.
Mostly because it includes a very specific locution that exists nowhere else on Teh Internet:

Except, of course, if you know where to look:

Also here:
Lastly, and most tragically, time and crisis have demonstrated over and over again that there is absolutely no magical combination of facts, logic or goodwill that can dislodge the Center or the Right from their destructive, co-dependent ideological bunkers.
And here.

What can I say?  A writer recognizes their own darlings :-)  Like, say, "dumpster fire" -- the origin of which still remains a complete mystery to the good people at Merriam-Webster, despite it being very well-documented out here in Liberal Coventry and despite me having written them several times to stake my claim.

Ah well.

Moving on...

Behold, a Tip Jar!

Like any medical professional treating wounds.
It help heal and hopefully heal properly.

Depending on the damaged tissue, it may leave a scar. The patient is always the one who must nurse it to it's best healing.

Oh, it is nice that I can add you to my collection of famous / and the notoriety list of people in which I have some familiarity. Even if it is a fly by.

I know the leafing, every time I get printed in the local papers Public Pulse. Not as prestigious as listed on the net and with the Gigantic Google thing.
Content of the mark you make. may traveling Media sea fares use it to guide them to their destination.

I have many Trump fanatical fans in my family and a coupla Never Trumpers, who I think are just lying and secrety love his horrible flabbly icky azz.

I've witnessed my rightwing fundie family get ever crazier, angrier, nastier, nuttier, more bigoted, racist, sexist, homophobic after decades of brainwashing by Fox, Rush, "Christiany" broadcasting and the like. They are pretty much unreacheable.

For the record, my family members are mostly intelligent, well educated, cultural, well-traveled (outside the USA) people. You might think that somehow reality would pierce the veil of their delusions, but alas, it does not.

My family growing up was truly not particularly racist or bigoted. Sexist is another Q because 1950s. But seriously they weren't racist, and back then, we had recently completed a shooting war to defeat the Nazis. The thought that they'd align themselves with for-real (albeit doltish) Nazi's was unthinkable back then.

But that was then, and this is now. It's not just the morans and cheeto-breaths that love 'em some Trump. It's a lotta white flight suburban country club types who love his horrible flabby failing flailing azz.

These people are unreachable, except maybe by some trained cult deprogrammer person. It's very frustrating, very sad and frankly a little frightening.

All of these supposedly "high brow" pundits also have a LOT to answer for.

grrrrr

I didn't know dumpster fire was yours. That alone merits a trip to the tip jar.
