From Yahoo News:
Four top law firms turned down requests to represent TrumpTop lawyers with at least four major law firms rebuffed White House overtures to represent President Trump in the Russia investigations, in part over concerns that the president would be unwilling to listen to their advice, according to five sources familiar with discussions about the matter....
“The concerns were, ‘The guy won’t pay and he won’t listen,’” said one lawyer close to the White House who is familiar with some of the discussions between the firms and the administration, as well as deliberations within the firms themselves.
Other factors, the lawyer said, were that it would “kill recruitment” for the firms to be publicly associated with representing the polarizing president and jeopardize the firms’ relationships with other clients...
Now that the reputable lawyers have declined President Stupid's invitation to destroy their careers by association, the choice obvious:
And -- bonus! -- he comes with lots of experience in handling volatile sociopaths:

There's always the public defenders office, they can't turn you down.
I've seen on twitter four major firms already turned him down.
1) he won't listen to advice (especially Step One of any defense which is to STFU),
2) he has a history of not paying his bills.
So he's going with his divorce lawyer, who also lost the Trump U case for him. The other lawyer whose M.O. was threatening people can't represent him because he is testifying in the case. Not that that tactic would impress the Justice Department much. Ken Starr and John Yoo must have a full plate. Are there no sleazebag solicitors left to defend their tribune?
Never fear, Mr. President*: Dewey, Cheatem & Howe to the rescue!

If fictional lawyer Saul can't help, what about The Firm's Avery Toler?
Is he going with the same lawyer who threatened Berkeley Breathed?

Good evening, Mr. Glass.
Maybe Milton and Associates would help...

As I understand it, bankruptcy lawyers get their money up front in cash. This is a practice that any practice representing Trump would do well to adopt.
Not that I'm calling him a deadbeat, or anything like that...
What about that law firm that received a Gold Glove, an Emmy and the Putin's choice award that Trump and his Brotherhood used before.?
The Russian award winning law firm.......... At least in Putin's courts.
It speaks volumes that this overgrown petulant incompetant baby has to get lawyered up 4 months into his reign of error. And on top of it, no really good litigator - most of whom are conservative die-hard Republicans - wants to touch this Con Artist with a ten foot barge pole.
