Sunday Morning Comin' Down: Early Edition

Since I have no intention of spending Mother's Day watching wildly overpaid political muppets trying desperately to brace up the crumbling pillars of their High and Holy Church of Both Siderism, I thought I would give you all a forecast of the Gasbag Cavalcade train-wreck-to-come, instead of a look back at the Gasbag Cavalcade train-wreck-that was.

For starters, let's have a look at how things are faring over in  Conservative Christopath Opposite World:

Clearly, the Right runs according to some ideological equivalent of Moore's Law in which every new iteration of Conservatism is half as bright and twice as brainwashed as the previous iteration.

And now, a quick sampling of the Very Special People who will once again be handed a huge national media platform this weekend...

Bill Kristol's simpleton son-in-law, Matthew Continetti of the Washington Free Beacon will be on "Meet the Press".  So, y'know., buckle up for some exciting, inbred Beltway action!

Two ticks down the dial, Bill Kristol himself -- whose myriad blood-drunk lies and derangement have been shoved far enough down the memory hole that he can resume his role as one of the Beltway's Serious and Reasonable Conservatives -- will be on “State of the Union”.  And I am willing to wager no one there will be rude enough to mention Kristol's long and ugly history of being completely wrong about everything:

Newt Gingrich will be stinking up a stool on Fox News, and David "I Din't Do It" Frum will be reminding "Reliable Sources" viewers that Bush regime dead-enders and Obama aspersion traffickers, never fade away, they just glide right on into senior contributor/editorial positions at major American magazines and newspapers.

America's whisperiest Republican bar-fly and Pulitzer Prize winner. Peggy Noonan, will be on "Face the Nation" along with Ben Domenech of The Federalist.  Ben Domenech, who would most likely still be just another back-bench wingnut plagiarist and policy hack at America's most infamous climate change denial chop shop were it not for MSNBC's Chris Hayes who inexplicably decided to become Domenech's most reliable hype man:

I got your back, Bilbro Baggins!

To misquote the inimitable Stephen King, when you plant dragon's teeth, you have no business acting surprised when you grow an actual dragon.

In case you are unfamiliar with The Federalist, it is a blog, very much like this one except it has been around since September of 2013 while my little slice of treason has been up and running since 2005. Also The Federalist enjoys full-member privileges of the vast and well-funded Wingnut Welfare system and free publicity courtesy of MSNBC and the aforementioned Mr. Hayes, while I put a tip jar out from time to time and cross my fingers, and MSNBC doesn't want to know me.

By way of understanding the sort of incisive analysis that The Federalist brings to the table, consider that one of the Topics of Vital National Interest which Mr. Domenech's blog boldly tackled during this Peak WTF! week of President Stupid's reign of dementia and fuckery was the Terrible Liberal Bias to be found in a particular Marvel comic book.

And no, I am not kidding.
X-Men Torture Head Of ‘Heritage’ Think Tank In New Comic Book

Captain America says, ‘Heritage Initiative. They call themselves a ‘think tank,’ but—’ X-Men leader Kitty Pryde interrupts: ‘they’re a bunch of anti-mutant racists.’

...Comics have always had political angles, but never have mainstream books been so over-the-top preachy and vehement in vilifying the creators’ political enemies.
Except, y'know, not.

In fact the very first issue of Captain America clearly shows Cap punching out one of the ideological godfathers of Modern Conservatism...

Hail Hydra, motherfuckers.

Also too, about 1973 Cap'n. A. encountered an organization called the Committee to Restore America's Principles, which was a Hydra front organization.

Thank ye, Drift, for reminding me to call Mother today. We will talk shit about Trump. When one's mother, who raised you by spinning vinyl about mostly Peter, Paul & Mary, is more Liberal than her son, you know it's all good.

Not that Dad's vinyl of Classical music was a waist, but Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture really doesn't get the blood flowing anymore. (Except when he got hold of a digital of actual cannon reports and cranked it to 11 to the alarm of the neighbors, god bless him.)

Come to think of it, I'm so pissed off, and still have that special recording of the 1812, that I might just go all "Spinal Tap" and blow out ye olde woofers. (Hi, Mom)

I have a feeling that the 1973 issue about C.R.A.P. was a not so subtle dig at the GOP's Committee to Re-Elect the President (CREEP), which was directly involved in money laundering and dirty tricks and, of course, Watergate.
