Why would we have a tie on such an egregious nominee? Because Democrats serve corporate interests. https://t.co/66rpL1ifik— Dr. Jill Stein (@DrJillStein) February 7, 2017
Every single Democrat voted against DeVos.
Every single one.
If Jill Stein did not exist, Glenn Greenwald would have to hire Ron Fournier to invent her.

"Every single Democrat voted against DeVos."
They are also a reason her confirmation vote was twice delayed and Mike Pence had to something no previous VP has had to do. I am sure that, while DeVos has some power, her agenda is significantly hampered because she is now politically radio active to work with.
I have been constantly frustrated over the last 10+ years when I read "straight party line vote" or "all Democrats voted against/for" something only to head to my progressive part of the internet as see "Democrats are nothing by corporatists sellouts!" over and over and over.
I am sure this is no small measure due to their phones and email servers crashing from constituents contacting them. Funny what Democratic Representatives/Senators will do when they know the voters have their back.
Probably Dr. Stein has not heard that the Republicans control the Senate & there is no filibuster. I am being charitable (she stupid rather than evil).
Last line killed me!😂
I do not recall where I recently read a report that Jill Stein and Mike Lelly were both in Russia at an RT gala. Enjoying themselves in front of the Russian peasants. For whatever that is worth.
Stein had too many question marks during the primary and had no congress that would work with her. She showed up just in time to jump in the trace when she smelled some dissatisfaction with establishments Before that she was in Russia hob knobbing?
We won't hear too much from her or a 3rd party or even a 4th. They are always too busy between election and it is much easier to just barge in at the last minute.
As for Devos, I haven't been able to get my senators to offer a single qualification she has to confirm her. Why would that be.
Where I am there is a GOP ban on town halls. They are too busy on Sunday to vote on nominees because they are busy getting bribed at Mar A Lago in Florida. Which means they are too busy to return to their state and do some town halls. I figure they are to elite to endure any Town halls that could be negative. I mean they studied the unleashing of hate the GOP funded during the ACA town halls and they want no part of an opposing town hall like that.
So now, Can someone clarify exactly what sect of Christianity and it's specific tenets Devos plans to divert my taxes to be taught in her family private schools for profit?
Will Amway products be the only supplier? Competition to sell these products might harm the kids education ( and Devos sales)..
Think there could be extra credit for the school kids selling Amway ?
Newt Gang green had that idea of putting God's little ones to work early to teach them how to be better servants for those that expect to be served, like Devos.
As Pence would say, All Hail Trump.
It is just odd that their oath of office to defend the constitution doesn't include confirming competence and having a level of qualifications to Government positions is in part of that duty to uphold and defend that constitution.
But hey, Putin and Mother Russia.
If you don't like it when Democrats lose, please try to help them win. Tearing them down only helps the Republicans win.
Was that clear and simple enough for you Jill? I know "Republicans" is a big, scary, four syllable word that you don't like to admit exists, so let me try again:
Tearing them down only helps pricks win.
Better?

"If Jill Stein did not exist, Glenn Greenwald would have to hire Ron Fournier to invent her."
And pay him with Pierre Omidyar’s money, because he's got expenses don't you know...

I'm not often left speechless, but for the life of me I cannot understand wtf she means by that statement. Is she really that thick? Or malicious?

Jill Stein: "The reason there are 10,000 deaths from influenza each year is because Democrats got flu shots." "The reason Hitler invaded Poland is because FDR was a Democrat." "The reason the sun rises is the east is because Democrats don't like California." "The reason Tommy failed Calc I is because Democrats like math."
"We are tied to a language that makes up in obscurity what it lacks in style." Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead
Dr. Stein's assertion made me wonder if "egregious" meant what I took it to mean, so I went to a dictionary site or two and discovered the following:
egregious
adjective
1. extraordinary in some bad way; glaring; flagrant:
an egregious mistake; an egregious liar.
Synonyms: gross, outrageous, notorious, shocking.
Antonyms: tolerable, moderate, minor, unnoticeable.
2. Archaic. distinguished or eminent.
The tweet makes no sense, whichever way one takes it. It seems more likely that the clause "Because Democrats serve corporate interests." is her "signature" phrase and is automatically added to the end of all her posts.
I hope you will forgive my need put forward my syllogism regarding Betsy DeVos. I wasted a lot of time at the start of this week attempting to make sure that Senator Rob Portman (the Stewart Percy of the Senate) was aware of the contempt Ms. DeVos had shown for Ohio law:
Major Premise:Unrepentant lawbreakers should not be given cabinet posts.
Minor Premise: Betsy DeVos is an unrepentant lawbreaker. *
Conclusion: Betsy DeVos should not be given a cabinet post.
*Evidence of the truth of the minor premise:
The PAC All Children Matter Inc. was directed by Ms. Betsy DeVos. In 2006 this PAC willfully violated Ohio election law after being informed of its provisions. Ms. DeVos and her group knew the law. They were informed of its provisions by the Ohio Election Commission. The group she led then willfully chose to break the law. In 2008, the bipartisan Ohio Elections Commission voted 5-0 that the PAC led by Ms. DeVos had violated Ohio election law, and imposed a fine. In 2010 the group she led challenged the ruling of the Ohio Elections Commission in the Franklin County Court of Appeals. The court denied the appeal and upheld the fine the commission had imposed for breaking Ohio law. She and her group tried to appeal that ruling, but the Ohio Supreme Court refused to hear the case. In 2012 the Ohio Attorney General went to court in an attempt to collect the fines Ms. DeVos' group owed for breaking Ohio law. Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Daniel T. Hogan gave judgment ordering the PAC Ms. DeVos was in charge of to pay the fines it owed for breaking Ohio law. He also ordered that the amount of the fine be increased by $25 a day from Oct. 26, 2006, until the judgment for breaking Ohio law was paid. The lawbreaking organization Ms. DeVos headed has refused to pay the fines it owes to the state of Ohio. Betsey DeVos cannot be compelled to pay the fines the lawbreaking organization she led owes to the state of Ohio, but she must be held morally responsible for their lawbreaking; for guiding them in their attempts to avoid taking responsibility for their lawbreaking;and. finally, for their refusal to pay the penalty justly imposed for breaking Ohio law.
All the Senators who voted to confirm her voted to condone her unlawful behavior. Their votes are evidence that they share her conviction that people like her should be permitted to disregard the law without fearing censure.
My own "signature" phrase:

A wise man will desire no more than he may get lawfully,
use soberly, distribute cheerfully and leave con-tently
-- Benjamin Franklin
Thanks for this post, Driftglass. I try to keep up with the lunacy of Greens. I have one that's become a perennial candidate for Congress in my district. He got got 10.9% in 2014 and 4.38% last time. So, the trendline is in the right direction. He's a conspiracy theorist who never misses a chance to trash Dems, with not a discouraging word for Reps.
When I say conspiracy theorist, 9/11 is one, but he also accused my local Board of Elections of being in the tank for Dems and Reps and biased against all other parties.
