Looks like we had to turn comments off on story about Mall of America's first black Santa. Merry Christmas everyone!https://t.co/BQVm24DH6y— Scott Gillespie (@stribgillespie) December 2, 2016
Since nothing is ever about race, let's just say that freaking out over a black Santa is a very strange way for America's working class to manifest their economic anxieties.
I wonder where America's Most Aggrieved Idiots ever got the idea that is was acceptable -- nay, even patriotic -- to get publicly whipped up over the skin color of a fictional character?
Oh yeah... (from Politico):
Megyn Kelly: Jesus and Santa were whiteBy HADAS GOLD 12/12/13 12:02 PM ESTOn Wednesday night Megyn Kelly declared on her Fox News show that both Santa Claus and Jesus were white. Discussing a piece in Slate by Aisha Harris about a black versus white Santa, Kelly that "just because it makes you feel uncomfortable it doesn't mean it has to change.""You know, I've given her her due. Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn't mean it has to change," Kelly said. "Jesus was a white man, too. It's like we have, he's a historical figure that's a verifiable fact, as is Santa, I just want kids to know that. How do you revise it in the middle of the legacy in the story and change Santa from white to black?"...

I sometimes think that this country deserves what the fascist oompa loompa is going to do to it.
Sigh ...
The fact that Jesus (assuming non-mythicism) would have been Semitic and Saint Nick deal skinned (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nicholas#cite_note-58) seems lost on these people.
Of course, I am silly since I refuse to accept life in a "post-factual" reality.
Sorry - "dark" not "deal" skinned.
DYAC!
FTA the guy is a veteran too which all Trumpistas claim to support. Guess he's just not the "right kind" of vet IYKWIM.
This morning's TV had an interview with a economically anxious white working class male standing in line for Trump's latest rally. They asked him if he was anxious that Trump was filling his administration with establishment republicans, beltway elites, and Manhattan bankers?
The response "I don't care! Their rich because they're smart with their money, and they'll be smart with America's money!"
I am supposed to believe Hillary lost because Obama and Democrats didn't give these people enough.
I see Megyn Kelly has parlayed her tiffs with Trump into job offers elsewhere, most likely CNN. I suppose said job will come with a hefty pay increase. For all of those who suddenly had a Come to Jeebus moment vis Kelly bc she "stood up to" Trump and found her appealing... well fahgedaboud that. Kelly's always been a rightwing, bigoted, asshole spooge bucket and a greedy amoral grifter on the take.
To tgahan: some of Trump's fervid fans are exhibiting 2d thoughts online about their great white supermacist savior. It is somewhat (only a teeny bit) heartening to see some of these stooges awakening to the reality that they've been played masterfully by one of the biggest con men of our times. There is a lot of complaining happening amongst the true believers about the Goldman Sachs Cabinet.
The chumps in Cinci were probably chosen to speak to the cameras because they're unwilling to admit that they were royally screwed over by Don the Con. Just wait'll their Medicare & Social Security waves buh-bye to them. We'll see how happy they are about their white supremacist lord & master then.

"Jesus was a whte man, too" - so brayeth the gloriously photogenic yawp of cultural illiteracy.
That I'm objectively more Christian in either viewpoint or lifestyle than the vast hordes of the fundamentalist Born-Again Brigade makes me one sincerely fucking underwhelmed heathen.

I don't think Megyn Kelly is going to lap dance this on Roger's lap very well.
