Good afternoon, Mr. Glass."Um, ma'am? Can't we just aim an X-wing at the Death Star, have it hit the jump to light speed, and let the increased mass wipe out the installation?""Silence, nerd."Be seeing you.
Thanks for the mini vacation/diversion from the ongoing political debacle. I hope that by Rogue One's release date (16 Dec), I'll be in a celebratory mood from the Republican implosion of Nov 8th. Anyway, this aging sci-fi geek really wants this to be a good movie prequel and not like the disappointment of the middle trilogy of Star Wars.Speaking of upcoming movies, I am anxious about the movie Arrival, which comes out three days after the election. I absolutely loved the short story ("Story of Your Life" by Ted Chiang) it is based upon, but wonder how they'll represent it on the big screen; initially disparate elements of "memories" vs the alien encounter vs physics/language/time/understanding - even the intentional jumbling of verb tenses on the written page.Hope you and Junior Dude see both and provide reviews on Science Fiction University.
Still want me some Grand Admiral Thrawn on the big screen.
