The WaPo has its Gretchen Carlson Moment

Oh.  My.  God.

I work in a whore house.

And I'm dressed like a hooker.

And there's a pile of cash on the dresser.

And there's a dick in my mouth.

Oh my God, how did this happen and who can I blaaaaaame?!?!

The WaPo suddenly notices that a non-story it has helped flog for over a year is, in fact, a non-story:
The Hillary Clinton email story is out of control

JUDGING BY the amount of time NBC’s Matt Lauer spent pressing Hillary Clinton on her emails during Wednesday’s national security presidential forum, one would think that her homebrew server was one of the most important issues facing the country this election. It is not. There are a thousand other substantive issues — from China’s aggressive moves in the South China Sea to National Security Agency intelligence-gathering to military spending — that would have revealed more about what the candidates know and how they would govern. Instead, these did not even get mentioned in the first of 5½ precious prime-time hours the two candidates will share before Election Day, while emails took up a third of Ms. Clinton’s time.
Sadly, Mr. Lauer’s widely panned handling of the candidate forum was not an aberration. Judging by polls showing that voters trust Mr. Trump more than Ms. Clinton, as well as other evidence, it reflects a common shorthand for this election articulated by NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick last week: “You have Donald Trump, who’s openly racist,” he said. Then, of Ms. Clinton: “I mean, we have a presidential candidate who’s deleted emails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate. That doesn’t make sense to me, because if that was any other person, you’d be in prison.”
In fact, Ms. Clinton’s emails have endured much more scrutiny than an ordinary person’s would have, and the criminal case against her was so thin that charging her would have been to treat her very differently. Ironically, even as the email issue consumed so much precious airtime, several pieces of news reported Wednesday should have taken some steam out of the story...
Every couple of years the malfeasant corporate media blows a tire in the middle of rush hour traffic while driving the getaway car for the Republican party.

Oops.

They get out of the car and, cognizant of the growing crowd of pissed-off rubberneckers and the Republican degenerates still in their back seat, they begin to loudly blame the tire.  And blame the road.  And blame the weather and rush hour traffic.  And. if the jam they are in is especially rank and egregious, they will ruminate piously (and in the most passive voice imaginable) for awhile about convening a Tire Ethics Panel to discuss just how this sort of thing might have happened.

Then once the crowd has moved on to other, shiny things they roll on a spare, drive quickly away, and get back to the profitable business of mainstreaming Conservative bigotry and madness.

And if they have their way, they will be complicit in the end of the United States by electing a fascist whose belligerent ignorance will likely result in our nuclear destruction. I just hope they're on camera when the first missiles strike so I can watch them evaporate.

We need to see the emails of Speaker Paul Ryan and Senator Mitch McConnell throughout the time frame of the Hillary emails.
How about Darth Cheney/s emails instead of the notes and scribblings on papers of his desk when it came to the outing of a CIA agent (Valerie Plame)?

What wrongdoings can be brought to light sifting through classified conspiracy exchanges between these sluffers, conspirators and sunbathers
might we find?

Just watch Elijah Cummings questioning James Comey about the "classified" nature of the emails, or read the email from Colin Powell detailing how to circumvent FOIA if you want some email based perspective. Or how about we ask what happened to Karl Rove's emails, and what, exactly constitutes accountability in such situations.
Or, FSM forbid, we discuss expanding the state department's budget to drag its communication protocols into the 21st century.
How did this happen and who can I blame indeed.

Republicans do this because they have nothing else. They need to distract the voters who might notice just how horrible they are.

Minor correction:

The end-game blame is on the junior state senator - read: dirty liberal hippie from the big city who got elected by all those questionably-American people with that commie 'melanin' in their skin.

Who is not only a generic soros-zombie liberal stooge, but a Clinton-reichstag plant, manchurian'ed from birth to weaken the very heart of our great white nation [ed: please stike the 'white' part] by diverting .001% of the state budget to teaching jeebus-raised teenagers that unwed pregnancy is, in fact, not an expression of a vengeful god's rage at people not properly preparing their adolescent children to win a cage match against biological reality.

That's the real culprit, your honor. The vague 'degradation' of society I roundly rejected as a youth and a young adult and a recently married adult and a late-30s adult and only recognized as bible truth once the failure of republican policies put me in a personal bind that I did not feel entirely comfortable laying at the feet of every decision I've made for the last few decades of my life.

And that's why I'm voting Nutball McCuntypants for governor, who I am sure is right to endorse Slash N. Burn O'Ignoramus for school board chair of my children's floundering district. LePage is a big fan too, I hear.

Trust me. It's the 34th try that always works.
