The Chain Of Command

Then...

...and Now.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term "Chain of Command",  the Hero of Canton will explain:

It's interesting, isn't it? Trump got Murdoch to drop to his knees and do Trump's bidding.

Kind of waiting for hell to freeze over or something. Think there may be some holy hell to pay come the General Election.

PSA: Ron "Severe Dementia" Fournier is up with a new piece at the Atlantic, larded up with "GOP Detachment Syndrome" nonsense and some hilariously buck-passing media criticism and similarly self-unaware "zomg Hillary dishonest" drivel.

Everyone is a chump except for that swell Ron "Severe Dementia" Fournier fellow, dontcha know?

The only faint praise I'll offer is that he doesn't explicitly blame Obama for Trump. And the implicit Obama blame is only elliptical.

Still. Looking forward to our fearless host's take.

RUKidding,

Are you intimating that Murdoch will get his revenge come November. Murdoch will be lucky to live that long after Jerry Hall wears him out. ( Sorry for that mental image.) But seriously, I guess it all depends on just how much the GOP owns Murdoch's soul, if any at all, or how much Murdoch owns the GOP's soul. It would seem to me the latter as the establishment GOP has been whipped into submission, largely, and Murdoch might just be being fitted for his ball-gag. Again sorry for that.

Slightly off topic, but driftglass's about the biggest political story not covered in the last forty years has been picked up be Neil Gabler at billmoyers.com. Probably still zero chance of it being widely disseminated.

To Kilo50 - no not intimating that Rupert will get revenge by November, although that's a thought and a possibility, I suppose. I'm just wondering how this'll all play out, and the "hell to pay" may come about if the Trumpers start believing that Fox is now part of the "liberal media." I read somewhere that totally irrelevant but still shrieking Ann Coultergeist is, uh, shrieking just that. Surely she won't be the last one to get on that choo choo train, especially if Trump tosses some buck$ in the right direction.

Jerry Hall, like Nancy Reagan, knows how to handle Murdoch. They're a match made in "heaven." I'm sure Mick Jagger is relieved.

I don't know - I find Ron Fournier hilarious, too, apart from the nonsense about the Democrats. But his observations about the hapless Repub establishment pretty much make me nod along! the hilariousness is that he is part of it, and now takes it for granted that we look up to him and all the Brookses, Gersons and their clones for advice and explanation of how it all went wrong.
