I read Edsall's article.

It seems the Dr. Frankensteins of the Reactionary Brain Caste fear and loathe their monster.

The other McDucks don't like the kinda-sorta mavericky Trumpy McDuck.

Lessee--where did I put The World's Tiniest Violin?

WaPo wants people to feel guilty about not listening to BS artists and their dupes, because WaPo operatives, being members of the Corporate Mainstream Media, make their lucrative livings by catapulting propaganda for the McDuck Elite.

If people feel justified in blocking out Crazy Uncle Liberty, why then, they might feel justified in blocking out the Corporate Media next--and then they might start thinking for themselves, which could lead to Chaos! Anarchy! Dogs And Cats Living Together!

Elites must control the opinions of the masses, in order to control the masses.

If I may copy and paste David Hume:

Nothing appears more surprising to those, who consider human affairs with a philosophical eye, than the easiness with which the many are governed by the few; and the implicit submission, with which men resign their own sentiments and passions to those of their rulers. When we enquire by what means this wonder is effected, we shall find, that, as Force is always on the side of the governed, the governors have nothing to support them but opinion. It is therefore, on opinion only that government is founded; and this maxim extends to the most despotic and most military governments, as well as to the most free and most popular.

There is David Hume, and then there is Brit Hume. David Hume was no Brit. Bless the Scottish Enlightenment.

And as Mike Myers often said: "If it's not Scottish, it's CRAAAAAP!" ^_^
