Trafficking in this kind of radioactive poison to fire up the mob is as low as it gets, and anyone who jumps on this bandwagon is not only so unfit for public office, but unfit for public anything.
So, needless to say, the entire GOP presidential field has been fighting over who can pitch the biggest tent on this most ancient and toxic of slanders. From CNN:

Well, at least CNN put PP's explanation at the beginning of the article. I think that is some kind of progress for MSM, especially considering it's CNN.

It's the ACORN "scandal" all over again.

It's worse than the Acorn scandal. At least with Acorn, the issue quietly went away once the video turned out to be fraudulent. Of course, by then, it was too late as the organization had gone under.
Today, we have a video that's widely known to be fraudulent. We've known that for two weeks now. Yet, it's still promoted as "evidence" for their position.
It's the difference between how they used to use stuff that's not proven to be true and now they use stuff that's proven not to be true.
These are scary times in which we live.
The Right now enjoys the de facto right to their own "facts", which are given equal validity with actual facts.
I suspect the grim truth is the rich, and their hired liars, really are as stupid as their tools in the pseudo-populist right-wing rank and file. The rich don't realize that the undermining of science by the legitimation of pseudo-facts will ultimately undermine the technical civilization on which their own power depends.
Babylon's own barons will chant down Babylon, but they are too witless to see that.
