Speaking of Cecil, I found this interesting article on Vox:
From Gamergate To Cecil The Lion: Internet Mob Justice Is Out Of Control
Apologies for multiple posts, but I'm thinking of things while listening to the podcast.
If you look long enough, you can find left-wing nuts.
The crucial asymmetry is that the left-wing nuts are neither remotely as powerful as the right-wing nuts, nor remotely as catered to and stroked and complimented as the right-wing nuts.
This asymmetry happens because left-wing nuttery can't be adapted to produce non-elite political support for policies which primarily benefit the 1% and their higher-ranking servants, while right-wing nuttery can be readily adapted to that purpose, if indeed it has not been specifically created for that purpose.
The noted conservative writer H. L. Mencken could have been talking about you two here.
