Mr. D'Souza's attorney is concerned that his client's required community service will impede his client's ability to gain full-time employment.

I suppose Mr. D's attorney has never heard of "wingnut welfare"? :P

Israeli Special Operations performed the killing. The reports indicate it was their naval commandos. That unit is Shayetet 13, and performs similar operations to US Navy SEALs or British SBS members.

Don't feel bad about mixing it up, I only known this from operating in that region as part of the US Navy, and knowing who is who there is rather important.

Great podcast, and nice to know that The Intercept cares so much about Obama defusing a major powder keg in the Middle East...oh wait, looks like Glenn doesn't give two s**ts about that, because God forbid he actually has to give the Black Man in the White House than Glenn hates with the fury of a thousand suns credit.

Liked this week's SF University--and Driftglass, the first movie Virus was based on a 1964 novel by the late Japanese SF writer Sakyo Komatsu. An English translation of the novel was released in the US in 2012 under the title Virus: The Day Of Resurrection. Yes, some of the science in the book is obsolete, but it is still a damned good read, if not grim and downbeat. It is considered a classic of modern Japanese science fiction.
