I was but a teenage college/engineering student when the first Star Wars came out. Yep, I'm totally in the tank for this upcoming movie (high hopes, unlike the disappointments of Episodes I, II, & somewhat III).

This should have the three things that were sorely lacking in the prequels:
1) real sets and practical effects for the actors to react to;
2) a director who knows how to give directions other than "Faster!" and "More intense!"
3) dialogue that isn't complete fucking spinach written by a guy who regards the dialogue track as just another component of the soundtrack no different from the oboe in the orchestra.

As long as it's not directed by Lucas and it doesn't later inspire a Reganesque "Star Wars Defense" boondoggle, I'm good with it.

I never could get interested in Kid Rock's "music".

At last, I know why.

The story comes from a wingnut site, so keep your brain bleach handy. ;)

IBW: Wait, you just now learned KR was a wingnut? He's said a lot of nutbar things over the past several years.

CK: I let my subscription to Rolling Stone lapse back in 2009, chiefly due to irritation with Taibbi. I quit listening to the radio regularly years ago. As a result, I have lost touch with the world of contemporary popular music, and I feel little, if any, regret about that.
