Another Day...

You know, there are at least a dozen ways to aggressively criticize the President's deeply problematic, unsanctioned war against bands of self-proclaimed, intermingled militia groups, rebels and terrorist outfits in a vast and ungoverned swath of land that overlaps two, sovereign, failed countries that I would agree with, but this is not one of them.

And yet this place of categorically asserting of the most depraved possible actions and the most despicable possible motives to anyone with whom he disagrees is where Glenn goes, always and instantly.

So just for a switcheroo, I think if would be fucking adorable if any one of Glenn's legion of media fanboys who would not bear even the mildest criticism of his wild leaps and outright fabrications as long as he bore The Name of Edward Snowden in front of him like the Ark of the Covenant would bestir themselves to opine about Mr. Greenwald's latest assertion -- fired from high atop his brand new $250M media empire -- that the President of the United States is actively engaged in a massive conspiracy to deliberately murder hundreds? thousands? of innocent people --
Glenn Greenwald: U.S. manufactured militant threat as pretext to bomb Syria
-- for the sole reason that, hey, fuck it, he just likes blowing random Muslims away:
The Obama administration needed propagandistic and legal rationale for bombing yet another predominantly Muslim country. While emotions over the ISIS beheading videos were high, they were not enough to sustain a lengthy new war.
Anybody want to stand by that?

Anyone?

Or is this one of those times when all the Liberal grownups are going to go back to quietly pretending that, well, that's just ol' Glenn being Glenn, and, whadya gonna do?

And hey, look over there!  Ben Carson's saying something craaaaazy!  Again!

Well, you have blogs...and computers...and access to the internet...so I guess what you could do -- and I'm just spitballing here -- is for once court the fury of the Spleenwald Horde who descent like plague rats on any site anywhere that dares to point out Mr. Greenwald's occasional inconsistencies and bouts of lying and do what you do for every other subject under the Sun.

Write about it.

And don't worry about blowback from the Horde, because according to Mr. Greenwald himself, what you would would be doing -- criticizing the world's most famous reporter even though it might mean agreeing with a sellout nobody turncoat Obot like me -- is actually the noble and heroic thing to do:
"It's a heroic attribute to be so committed to a principle that you apply it not when it's easy...not when it supports your position, not when it protects people you like, but when it defends and protects people that you hate."
So if  Glenn says its cool to call him out when he steps over the line, what's the problem?

Unless, of course, the executive officers of the Liberal blogosphere have quietly decided that certain subjects and people are just hands-off forever and no one bothered to forward poor, ol' driftglass the memo.

Anyone?

"Wait, isn't he the guy we're supposed to like?"

"Yeah, I think so... Why were we supposed to like him, again?"

"I don't remember."

Yeah I think your right about liking him.

On the other hand you may want to dislike of un-friend or de-pal Michelle Bacchmann.

This House Representative handle war completely different than your old Wellstone.
Because she is a modern Reagan republican Tea Potter.

Her way goes like this,
Leave congress as the need to debate war arises. But before you go, you vote for Government funding and slip war funding into the main funding bill. You have enough GOP votes to carry a Yeah vote on arming and bombing Syria so you can let any Republican troubled at his home district to vote against it. Then you leave Congress for another month (at least) until after the election.
During this time if your Bachmann, you go to the Value Voters Summit and bash the President for not doing nothing, for acting on his own as a dictator. How he caused all this and how weak the President is.
That is the modern day Reagan Republican way you handle debating war today.
Vote for Bachmann..!

I guess, like DFB, GG is now a certified member of "The Club."

You left out the last part of that quote: "unless that person is me"

It's a typical "Do as I say, not as I do" type of situation that I am used to seeing from "Libertarians".

Does that mean I can see him on Meet the Press arguing without opposition for massive tax hikes against the rich or widespread prosecution and jail time for major business leaders?
