Why It's Useless To Engage With These People: Exhibit 117,832 & 117,833

“Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many,” Former Bush Regent Dick Cheney and his monstrous whelping Liz writing in Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal.

It has long since stopped mattering to Conservatives what happens out here in Reality.

Whatever it is, it'll be twisted into another indictment of The Kenyan Usurper every single time.

...Dear @RealJamesWoods:

Fuck you, ya prick. We sure-as-shit didn't see YOU dragging his ass into custody, so shut yer fuckin' gob.

Even if it was a "capitalist tool" (to use an old advertising slogan from the 80s") The Wall Street Journal was a pretty good paper in its time. It had good hard news reporting, and, even if one didn't agree with its editorials, I got the sense that there was some intellectual rigor and intelligence behind them.

By "its time" I refer of course to the pre-Murdock era. The WSJ is comparable to the WaPo in the degree to which it has become a parody of its former self, and something you'd hesitate to wrap a fish in, much less fish & chips.

The decline of the Fourth Estate in this country has surely damaged our democracy. Has anyone written a decent book about how this all came about? If so, I'd like to know what it is.

James Woods? Huh. Strange but whatever.

HOW NICE OF YOUR GUY TO "NOT CAPTURE" A CRIMINAL HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT FOR 8 AND WHATEVER YEARS, JUST IN TIME FOR YOU TO LEAVE OFFICE AND YOUR SUCCESSOR TO FIND/KILL HIM FOR YOU...

Here's one for the AP history essay: who sired the greater monster, Unindicted Co-conspirator Richard Bruce Cheney or CIA Operative George Herbert Walker Bush?

Good morning, Mr. Glass.

Dammit, Videodrome, you leave James Woods' sanity alone! He was da bomb in Disney's "Hercules"!

Enjoy your day.

When actors blather this kind of non-sense I find it hard to watch them. It is a shame because Wood is an actor who's work I've admired but now I know seeing him will have a kind of stink to it. I feel that way about John Voit. I try to look past it but the feeling can detract from the show.
Actors have the right to voice their opinions but it might not be the best for their careers.

James Woods hasn't appeared in a good movie in almost 20 years. Just another old man yelling at the kids to get off his lawn.

Meh,

It took DELTA a year to train up for this. Anyone with military experience could tell you that isn't abnormal and is a rather fast time line.

Civilians have no concept of the amount of training, money, time, effort, talent, intelligence, and other factors it takes to pull this sort of stuff off.

You can't just run around willy nilly following a guy and then grab when he goes to the bathroom... I mean you could but then you'd have a running gun battle, people would die, and all sorts of bullshit would happen.

#1) Who gives a flying fuck what James Woods thinks? His greatest accomplishment in the last 10 years is being a recurring character on Family Guy.
#2) Who gives a flying fuck what war criminal Dick Cheney and his demon-spawn think? He only has credibility in RW circles, and only after they have covered up their Bush/Cheney '08 stickers with Romney/Ryan '12 stickers (with Palin/Paul '16 stickers in their trunk)...

@ Anon 9:32

A lot of civilians have the concept that it takes a lot of training to go and do special ops missions. Hell, I've never been anything but a civilian, and I've read a book on their initial training and the training they go through on missions.

The people who don't know are usually chickenhawk nitwits who think everything should have been done yesterday...especially when there is a black man in the White House you can criticize for it not happening sooner. Remember how long it took George W. Bush to get Osama? They weren't complaining then, were they?

Yup, that's some angry, in-your-face, irrelelance

@n1ck

No, they don't. Unless you've actually been a part of something like this you have no idea at all. Not a fucking clue.

This isn't just chicken hawks, civilians who have never held a security clearance never been involved with missions are utterly ignorant of them.

As the holder of a security clearance I can say without fear of contradiction that @n1ck was supporting your main point and that his remarks were pretty reasonable.

Cinesias said...

Anon

Plenty of civilians have a clue about the amount of training, intelligence, planning, and cash it takes to perform a special forces operation.

The fact that I just wrote that sentence indicates as much, no?

Horace Boothroyd III said...

@n1ck

Technically you be imitating Ken Pollack and speaking with great confidence about matters you do not understand, so there's that.

Consulting my Bayesian posteriors, though, I see a high likelihood that you are on the level while Anon simply has a bee in his bonnet the nature of which he chooses to obscure with his security clearance.

Cinesias said...

The point is that reasonably intelligent people can understand that going into another country on a mission can be very complicated and can require time, money, and information that takes many people a lot of time to gather, check, and analyze.

The people who have been crying about Obama not caring about dead Americans are conservatives. The same people who didn't give two shits that Bush didn't capture Osama bin Laden.

I don't pretend to know all of the cool conjuring words and initials that special ops and the like use. I don't know all the ins and outs. But not knowing specifics is not the same as not understanding the complexity of putting something together like that (I'm using lots of negatives because even talking about this issue requires layers upon layers of double-speak to be legitimate).

James Woods is indeed a good actor, but I wonder; he's so good at playing assholes, maybe he's not really acting at all.

Dick Cheney has been reduced to trolling the nation.

Grung_e_Gene said...

Actors should shut up about politics... Err, unless they are conservative then they need to be lauded on Faux News.

AS to who sired the worst monster it's close.

Liz, as 1/5th of his Deferments, is one of the reasons Cheney didn't get killed in Boot Camp when his bum heart didn't give out.

And it can be argued Dick Cheney massaged W(orst POTUS Ever) into all the heinous monstrously evil actions.

But, father of W(orst President) wins for all the evil he presided over.

@RealJamesWoods Definitely the right choice for role in "White House Down". You got to shoot the Black POTUS.
