Incurably fascist head-case Allan West seems to think this survey is sign of the slow death of the Republic at the hand of Commies like me. Of course, for Allan West, every day he wakes up in an America without President Curtis LeMay rounding up gays and threatening to nuke Massachusetts
is a sign of the slow death of the Republic.
If you are unfamiliar with this petty Bircher martinet's perpetually indignation shtick, John Amato has written up his latest claptrap over at Crooks and Liars here:
Allen West Doubts 'Legless' Tammy Duckworth's 'Loyalty' To America
Well, I doubt "soulless" Allen West's loyalty to our species, so there you go.
Also and unsurprisingly, this survey makes Roger Ailes' dancing monkeys on Fox's "The Five" worry about the future of Murrica.
For me, it is another mixed-but-hopeful sign that despite running Big Scary Loud Lies about Benghaaazi virtually as hard as they can, wall-to-wall, for a year and a half now, there appears have been virtually no public effect from all that very expensive propaganda-catapulting beyond the core Fox demographic of the deranged, the senile, the paranoid, the recently deceased and those who just want a few minutes of your time to tell you about "the Negro".
But of course that's just how we hard-core Commies work!

So those students don't watch Fox News or read the NY Post.
So those students were studying for finals rather than watching Fox News or reading the NY Post.
Drifty, you are the best blogger out there. (Equal to C.P. Pierce.) "...the core Fox demographic of the deranged, the senile, the paranoid, the recently deceased and those who just want a few minutes of your time to tell you about "the Negro"."
But you left out the KKK, Putin worshipers, and those who don't understand science, art, humor, or the Constitution.
Re Allan West, this is precious:
West was born in Georgia and joined the United States Army in 1983. He was deployed to Kuwait in 1991 and Iraq in 2003. In 2003, West was charged in an incident that involved the beating and simulated execution of an Iraqi police officer. West was fined $5,000, accepted a Non-judicial punishment and allowed to retire as a lieutenant colonel after an Article 32 hearing.[6] The alternative to retirement was to face a Court Martial for assault, with a sentence of 11 years.
Why am I not surprised that this fascist, Uncle Tom shitbag and war criminal (mock executions are a violation of CAT, the UN Convention against torture) is a Fox News Commentator?
BTW, that clip from Dr. Strangelove is one of the greatest in all of cinema history IMHO. You know, there really is a parallel between Gen. Ripper's statements and what Gen. Curtis LeMay thought about "war being too important to be left to the politicians."
To be fair to the conservative christian dudebro just trying to talk some sense into the kids today, I would've said miniature japanese autoclave robot from HardWare Wars as well. Also, he asked only ONE current event question, but, yes, what difference DOES that make….
I feel like Dr. Strangelove should be required viewing at all military colleges. How is it any less important than Thucydides or Clausewitz?
DG,
Not to nitpick a superior writer...
but a nitpick:
"John Amato has written up his latest claptrap over at"
I really think "his" should be "West's". The first two times I read it, I thought you were trashing John Amato.

Looking at this video, I can only wonder if maybe James O'Keefe edited it.
"Feed me Mandrake!"
Driftglass is far superior to Pierce..
Disgraced Allen West is just a good reminder that the upper echelons of the Republican Party will accept anyone as long as they espouse the right-wing values of Oppression, Intolerance and Adulation of the Rich.
I had to laugh with the first sentence in that clip, "From the campus of George Mason University..."
GMU is a good state university, but it has a WORLD of Reich-wing wonks with knitting mills of bad conservative ideas all funded by the Koch's, Scafie, Bradley and more. That they chose this campus for their propaganda makes perfect irony.
