So there is this guy that worked for the White House that brought Americans Medicare, Medicaid, The Civil Rights Act of '64, NPR, PBS, what was then considered high speed rail between DC and NYC among other things. I guess you could say he was part of the Professional Left before that moniker was ever a twinkle in anybody's eye. This guy has tirelessly been promoting progressive ideas and helping to enact progressive legislation for 50 years or more.

So why does this guy who was participating in the founding of the Peace Corps continually serve up these enormous both sides shit sandwiches?

The jury is in. Many people, including the humble moderator of this very blog, were wondering what would happen to Matt Taibbi once he got sucked into the Omidyar/Greenwald nexus. Not only does Taibbi serve up a great big both sides shit sandwich for his new masters, he has joined the "worse than Bush" !!! chorus that enables Rethuglicans to destroy a once great nation.

I can't tell if the great big shit sandwich David Cay Johnson made is open face or if he has toasted both sides, but it seems Johnson is part of that blame Obama first crowd we see so often in today's media. Then again, what do ya expect from a Newsweek article?

To better guard against Johnson's both siderism and his inability to blame Republicabs for anything, go take a look at his blog:

"That's what happens in America these days when you just tell the truth and point out the obvious."

Democratic operative and Assistant Attorney General under Obama, Lanny Breuer, explains why it was so important to not prosecute Wall Street criminality and instead to just pretend that Wall Street bankers were immoral but not criminal. Implicit in his explanation is how his behavior was not an example of both sides.

I love Elizabeth Warren. That's why I expected her sandwich to be filled with Nutella! Instead she makes a great big both sides shit sandwich in her new new book and she apparently expects good liberals to swallow it whole!

Here is a money quote:
By then, “Washington insiders” had already expressed surprise and even aggravation that the [Congressional Oversight Panel] was just as critical of the new administration as it had been of the previous Bush White House, Warren writes.

Here is the well meaning advice from Democratic operative Larry Summers: Summers’s message to Warren? “I could be an insider or I could be an outsider.”
“Outsiders can say whatever they want. But people on the inside don’t listen to them,” is how Warren summarizes Summers’s advice to her. “Insiders however, get lots of access and a chance to push their ideas. People — powerful people — listen to what they have to say. But insiders also understand one unbreakable rule: They don’t criticize other insiders.

Charles Pierce of Esquire magazine must live next to a pig farm judging by the the size of the open faced shit sandwich he just constructed with a side of Bill Clinton, Glass-Steagall and the Commodity Futures Modernization Act.

The money quote:
"There already are forces, even within the Democratic party, gathering themselves to squash [the debate over equity and the common good]. Larry Summers, her old bête noire, whose hands Warren was instrumental in keeping off the Federal Reserve system last year, already is giving interviews about "setting class against class" in anticipation of Democratic losses in this fall's midterm elections. If those losses occur, there will be a fearsome momentum for the party to move back toward the more corporate-friendly Democratic party that elected Bill Clinton, who repealed the Glass-Steagall Act and signed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, which exempted credit-default swaps from regulation and generally set the tone for the Democratic complicity in the economic catastrophe that hit in 2008."

Democracy Now gives no both sides shit sandwich to snack on. Instead there is simply a president in the White House controlling the executive branch of government. They don't mention party affiliation, they don't shout worse than Boooosh!! They just report on extra- judicial killings that are orchestrated and carried out by the executive branch of the US government.
