Neither one of those tweets makes any sense at all.

...never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee, Droneglass.

Upon sober reflection, the long term consequence of Snowden stealing all those secret documents may be that it forced to the surface a gaping abyss in the Left coalition: on the one side a gang of paranoiacs who squeal that the government is always evil under all circumstances, on the other side the sensible people who understand that government power is a potent tool for the good of the People despite the fact that it can in some cases be abused.

Which is the fundament of my complaint against those hysterical ninnies at dailykos.com - to hear them squeal you would think that the government exists for the purpose of punching hippies, stealing their weed, and watching them masturbate via the chips and code hacked into their laptops.

One has to wonder if Snowden and Greenwald had any clue that they were about to provoke this split or whether it was all (for them) just one big happy accident.

"government power is a potent tool for the good of the People"

or so I've heard.

Horace,

I think Liberal discomfort with the exercise of power is a well understood phenomenon. I don't personally think Snowden's motives were political; with Greenwald, who the fuck knows.

@Lumpy

Your beloved spontaneously self-organizing anarcho-syndicalist communes will not protect you from corporate predation, after the government has been emasculated in the name of arresting regulatory capture.

Horace, like Droneglass thinks his beloved CIA torturers, drones, prison-industrial complex and NSA spooks will protect him from the corporate predators they serve.

What touching faith!

In fact this very expensive apparatus can justify its price-tag to the ruling class only by making sure "the People" don't step out of line.

I see nothing has changed since my sabbatical. DG is still right 99% of the time, LL is still an unvarnished racist working off a script, and the battle continues unchanged.

I don't get it.
