Those Were The Days, My Friend
Once upon a time there were a handful of Republicans who could be moved by the overwhelming weight of facts to stand up to the reckless, criminal lunatics in their own party.
Even when those reckless, criminal lunatics were running their party.
Those days are gone. Probably for the foreseeable future.
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way

Has anyone else noticed that the legendary Republican party unity fell apart when they got rid of the earmarks that kept them in line?
