"And I missed you since the place got wrecked And I just don't care what happens next Looks like freedom but it feels like death it's something in between, I guess It's closing time..."
Overrated and underrated sci-fi? Hey, wait a sec! I sent in a question similar to that, like, a month ago...and Ms. Gal said that she didn't think it was a good idea because it might promote conflict between you and your listeners.
The Hell, man? :(
Anyway, nice to see y'all are still around 200 episodes later.
Oh, no need to go that far (you still have my email?). I'm not upset or anything. I was just reminded of this bizarre thing I repeatedly experienced in high school, where someone would ask me how to do a math problem, I'd explain the solution, they wouldn't understand me, and then someone else would use the EXACT SAME WORDS I JUST USED, and the first person was like, "Oh, NOW I get it!"
You crazy kids sure know how to time a bicentennial.
The plot sickens. This is Faith-Based Nihilism's finest hour. With American infrastructure already degraded to the point of being exponentially more menacing than Pashtun fundies with RPGs ever were, all the essential ingredients of a failed state have rarely been this ripe to arise. A default would decimate bonds (circa 70% of which are coming to maturity before 2016) & illustrate with brutal clarity how many "flights to safety" happened in the last five years. The TeaMullahs™ in Congress were every bit as maudlin & chagrined when their first attempt to force a debt default failed as they were joyful on the morning of October 1st, lest we forget - some might argue that not only impeachments but indictments are in this case not just a good idea but a bare necessity on behalf of the maintenance of peace, order & good government.
