American Terrorism

50 Years Ago Today:
16th Street Baptist Church Bombing

September 15, 1963 -- Firefighters sift through rubble and search for bodies in the basement of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church after a bomb killed four girls on Sunday, September 15, 1963. A stretcher waits to carry away any more victims found.. (Tom Self/The Birmingham News)
The radical Right doesn't bomb churches anymore. Abortion clinics, yes, but churches, no.

Instead they content themselves with wallowing in spiteful nostalgia for those good old days, and
sanctifying those who would have cheered the bombers on.
