Now They'll Have To Like Me!

Mittens feeds the beast.

From the AP:

AP source: Romney picks Ryan for running mate

NORFOLK, Va.—Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has picked Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate, according to a Republican with knowledge of the development. They will appear together Saturday in Norfolk, Va., at the start of a four-state bus tour to introduce the newly minted GOP ticket to the nation.
The official spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because this person was not authorized to disclose the decision.

In a statement issued Friday night, Romney's campaign would say only that the running mate would be revealed at 9 a.m. EDT at the Nauticus Museum. Berthed at the museum is the USS Wisconsin -- which offered a hint about Romney's choice.

Before Romney's team issued the statement, all signs seemed to point to Ryan, the seven-term Wisconsin congressman whose nomination could help assuage the conservative base of the party that has been reluctant to fully embrace Romney.
...

If the last 30 years of American political history has proven anything, it's that trying to appease the monstrous appetites of the Right only makes them exponentially hungrier and crazier.

Apparently no one affiliated with Team Romney is familiar with the story of "Little Red State Fundy".

Something is wrong with this picture. In the real world, Ryan will be the puppeteer, Romney the puppet. Most commonly-heard phrase in the Ryan-Romney administration -- repeat of the one from the Cheney-Bush administration: "Just sign here, Mr. President."

. . . and all the gods answered my prayers!

"Something is wrong with this picture."

The Rethug Congressional leadership has made it clear from the beginning that they want a president solely for the purpose of signing the bills they pass. They do not want leadership, policy or direction. They want a duly elected signing pen. Ryan is there to keep RMoney in line and hopefully keep the base engaged. That he also galvanizes the people who hadn't been paying much attention until now to come out and vote against the ticket is just a bonus.

As one M.M. Burns would say: Excccellent!
Black screen direct quotes from "Ryan Budget" in bold white fonts detailing exactly how granny will be slowly starved and her medical coverage will be converted into a cat food coupon.
Since fear is the only thing their base cares about, time to scare the shit out of them.....
Almost as good as him picking Bachman or Cain...
