John doesn't pretend Conservatism is something other than what it is, or that it wasn't really awful and spiraling at near-light-speed ever deeper into madness long before he woke up and noticed, or that it's some arcane, academic exercise which only he and four of his friends managed to get right and that everyone else failed to live up to, or that every single fucking time it spectacularly and publicly fails, out there somewhere some unspecified hippie is doing something so identically and oppositely terrible that it all exactly balances out.
This is why he is not a dick.
This is also why neither the "Daily Beast" nor the "New York Times" will be offering him a job-for-life anytime soon.

Did he say that he's too stupid to talk in public? This stuff was so easy to figure out 15 years ago, even I could do it.

well thx to stony pillow be given, but i thought you were a regular reader anyway, drift. it's a diminishing return, though, these converts to the light. the sane ones have either mostly converted, or been driven off, yet skulk near the dugout, hoping to be allowed to pinch hit sometime in case one of the regular mouth-breathers goes on the DL.
You're a better man than me drifty because what we have in the end is either one of two inexcusable reasons to vote for Bush not once but twice:
1) You just didn't really give enough shit to put any thought into it
2) Something about christofascism resonates with you on a truly instinctive level
I think which of these motivated Cole all those years is quite evident, whereas Sullivan is nothing more than a hack poseur just gigging his gig.
