There is a Club, Ctd.

You and I are definitely not in it, ctd.  :-)
From Mr. Sullivan, reporting on the state dinner to which he was invited:
I try to keep social occasions off the blog since so much of my life is an open book. But it was a really magical evening. I'm a proud Tory and a proud American (almost a citizen) and to see my political party bond so effortlessly with a president I endorsed and admire was enormously gratifying. It made me feel saner, amid today's Republican madness.

More later on Mr. Sullivan's limitless capacity to make a handsome living by pretending the last 30 years of American conservative history and his part in that history were something radically other than what they actually were.

For now, in these parlous times with so many people living hand-to-mouth thanks to the serial, economic catastrophes visited upon us by 30 years of Conservative madness and perfidy, I cannot begrudge anyone  their food and drink who has figured out a way to cadge a free meal and hooch at taxpayer expense.

A word I learned just this morning works so well: dafuq?

Yes, Obama would make a good Tory. Obama would make a good Republican. And that somehow makes him feel better, that Obama, a good Tory Republican, is now the liberal socialist communist?

Can you say "dafuq"? Good! I knew you could!

I saw that picture and my immediate reaction was "I bet driftglass will have something to say". There really is no hope is there?
