Rachael Maddow Joins

The "No Liars" Movement.

I am delighted that Rachael has called out Willard Romney in such bell-clear language, but on some level she has to know that Romney is not the problem.  Romney is a data-driven vulture capitalist.  His considerable wealth has come mostly from taking over companies, stripping them of their assets, dump their liabilities (pensions, people, etc.) and selling whatever is left to the highest bidder.

He's a corporate butcher, and butchers don't get close enough to the cow to stun it and carve it up by telling it the truth:  corporate butchers get killing-close to their future victims by telling them whatever they want to hear.  To get near enough to sink the knife in, every move made must be data-driven and every sentence uttered must be what the data tells you is the most efficient means of getting you where you want to go.

And after looking at the entire history of the Modern Republican Party from Reagan to Gingrich to Limbaugh to Falwell, what does Willard Romney's data tell him?

That the GOP base are bigots and imbeciles who will happily throw their money and votes at anyone who promises to tell ll them comforting fairy tales about how they're really not bigots and imbeciles, but patriots and geniuses!

Willard Romney's data tells him that "Sin City's" Senator Roark was perfectly correct about the true nature of lying on a gargantuan scale (Not safe for work):

Willard Romney's data tells him that no Republican candidate or media personality can succeed without lying all the time about everything, because to succeed they must now spend all of their time flattering and appeasing the monster they made.

This monster.

It didn’t just wander out of the woods one day, or land here from another planet. The Wingnut Base -- whatever teabagger, Colonial Williamsburg camouflage they’re sporting this week, and however hard the media tries to pretend they aren't who we know they are -- was manufactured by the Conservative Movement to win elections. Made right here in the U S of A out of spare parts left over from the Segregationist South, Right-wing fundamentalism, Bircher paranoia and general Archie Bunker pig-ignorance.

Conservatives built the unholy thing, programmed it, wounded it up and sent it out to do their bidding.

And everyone knows it. David Brooks knows it. David Gregory. Tom Friedman. David Frum. The goofs at the "No Labels" freakshow. The entire GOP Brain Caste.

Everybody.

This is the same monster that never gave a shit that Reagan/Bush were running up historic deficits, or sold weapons to terrorists to finance illegal wars. The same monster that hunted and impeached Clinton. The same monster that completely looses its shit over "activist judges"...right up until five of the most malignantly activist judges in modern history put their candidate in the White House and gave corporations the right to buy elections.

The same monster that cheered on George W. Bush's serial, catastrophic betrayals and failures while it called Liberals "traitor".

The same monster that dutifully gets its opinions from Rush Limbaugh, its "news" from Sean Hannity and its Jebus from Pat Robertson.

And everyone knows it.

...

What else does Willard Romney's data tell him?

That the media's Centrist Enablers of the Right's constant fucking lying -- a group which includes several of Rachael's professional colleagues --

will always bend over backwards to let the Right get away with it.

That every time another prominent, Republican tells another bald-faced lie, Centrists will obediently and reflexively conjure up another imaginary sin by another non-existent Dirty Hippie and then shrug the whole thing off as "Both Sides Do It".

Willard Romney lies because the entire history of the Modern Conservative movement proves that lying to the Pig People works.

Willard Romney lies because the entire history our Imperial Villager Media proves that they will always let Republicans off the hook for lying.

Lying to the Pig People all the time about everything is nothing more than a rational, data-drive business decision.

And Willard Romney is nothing if not a rational, data-drive business man.

Bravo!

Sorry for the comment before.

I really like that when a fleeting wisp of the tortured truth does escape from one of these campaigns (as in the etch a sketch comment) that it constitutes a "gaffe". It deviates from the normal, acknowledged language of the campaign. When they don't "lie" it is a "mistake".
