Happy New Year

Be careful out there.

But don't forget to make a few mistakes along the way.

via Neil Gaiman:
"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
"Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. ... Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life."

Good morning, Mr. Glass.

"Make glorious, amazing mistakes."

So, vote Republican in November? :)

Love the comment from Neil Gaiman - going to have to use that quote for my students at school. Want to thank you and Bluegal for your work throughout the year. It's been a bit of a hard one, and I've tended to use your writing and the podcast as a bit of an escape from reality - the Australian experience is a bit different from yours. Now things are looking up for me personally. Hope you find employment in the new year in work that you love. Also looking forward to your unveiling (if you feel you should, of course). Keep writing, mate, it's always a pleasure to read you.

Mr. Kevin, he did also say, "make mistakes nobody's ever made before". I think we've been down that road and nowhere it leads.

Only a few hours in and I've seen my first 2012 trifecta of awesome.

Keep the fires burning all!

@Anonymous

That ain't Drifty's style, and it's certainly not the cut of his jib. But for all it's wishful thinking there are the bones of a good writer there.

kevin, the man said "make mistakes" not "dive headfirst through the hole in the outhouse"

So true. Like the way you remember voting for John Anderson, I can remember plenty of things I thought and did that sure seem foolish now. Result? It always stops me in my tracks when I'm tempted to be unkind about the folly of others.
