Speaking on David effing Brooks, Paul Krugman is getting closer and closer to naming the evil that has befell our land.

Why no internet puppies?
I think that "dirty-hippies-morally-screwing-up-America" is the only tune a lot of these conservative pundits know, kind of like the the bad accordian player who can only do a dissonant rendition of "Lady Of Spain".
I didn't know Brooks is out of Univ of Chicago. His insistence on having an Elite Leadership structure in place makes a lot more sense to me now.
It would do us all some good for you to explore the Leo Strauss connection/influence and talk about it sometime on your podcast.
