I Don't Know Nothing About That
It amazes me that people are amazed when liars lie. That we are somehow stunned by each new outrage by people we already know are scum.
From the Base of the Right, through their functionaries and office holders, through the Villager Gasbags who enable them and right up to the Boss of all Bosses, they lie and abide liars because they are weak, foolish, fearful, awful people.
Because the money is good.
Because it works.
Because it comes with no price tag.
And they will keep right on lying and abiding liars until the day comes when the consequences of their lies become so terrible that their survival depends on not doing it anymore.

Murdoch's "media" IS clearly an extension of his integrally lying self.
Knowing that liars lie, at least, saves one the time that would otherwise be totally wasted watching UK parliament and US congress hearings.

Thanks for saying that so well.
Probably a very common thing in empires in terminal decline. :-(
driftglass, wouldn't you say that our current president is liar? You can take about just any campaign speech of his that he made in his last election and the lies just pop out- and yet you promise to vote for him, because the lies of the radical right are so much worse?
Anon2,
Are you a child? Or were you perhaps dropped on your head as a child?
Ha! maybe. But no one ever told me...
I guess I hate getting lied to by anyone, both personally and because it makes a functioning democracy that much harder when it is politicians telling them. I can easily see through the lies of Rupert and his minions on the right because they are so hysterically obvious, but the mendacious back-stabbing kind that Democrats tell these days is much harder to deal with.
