Weekly Professional Left Podcast #62

ProfessionalLeft
"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."

-- Abraham Lincoln

Button, Button, who's got the Button...

You do, if you take advantage to the chance to pick up this mint-condition memento of the final days of the Mainstream Media, available at Blue Gal's Cafepress Store (and keep listening later in the year for an opportunity to win one). Also too, the Podcast Donate Button Button below allows listeners to throw a contribution specifically towards the podcast. Thanks for your listenership and support!

Thanks again to Frank Chow for the graphic at the ProLeft website and Heather at Crooks and Liars Video Cafe for their help. And don't forget, our archives are available for free with no downloads at Professional Left.

Talk about the vapours...

Will, the auto-worker's son, wrote a letter that was one of the most fantastic, life-affirming things I have heard in a long, long time.

Thanks to him, and you all too, for a great hour well spent.

For anyone interested, here's how I've tried to pay it forward to my own union Dad....

Just started listening. Minor correction, for the record: At around 8:58, you are mocking the wingnuts for their Media Matters Derangement Syndrome, and you say that it is a lie that George Soros funds them.

Turns out, he has recently given them his first donation. Yes, it has been a lie to say "Soros-funded" in the past, but no longer.

As I say, a minor thing, but we might as well have our facts straight. We don't need inaccuracies for our argument to be better.

If you correct this later in the podcast, I apologize for the above.

Krugman's piece about the Wisconsin sitch http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/25/opinion/25krugman.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=krugman&st=Search

is very telling indeed. Anyone who thinks "we heard the voice of the people in the last election" is even remotely valid can just stop.

Damn, Dg!

Prepare to be attacked by the vast network of unschooled but cant-filled wingnuttia.

You have now distinguished yourself (once again, to your loyal readers) one time too many for their continued ignor-ance.

They cannot stand the truth.

And you tell it.

With BG.

Go Team!!!

S

Then dumb the whole mess down about 70% and stick it into a pair of fuck-me pumps and you have Sarah Palin.

You and BG will be high on the list of recipients once my cunning business plan comes together:

1. ??
2. Make millions of $$
3. Fund media
