The Secret Police Are Not Here To

Create repression.

They are here

to preserve repression.

All politics may be local, but all politics is certainly politics.

BTW, "Meet the Press" shit the journalistic bed so comprehensively this morning that it is taking me some time to decide whether or not to even bother going into it.

Let's just say that the tragic hilarity of David Gregory sitting in Washington D.C. watching a Twitter stream with Chuck Todd...followed by an "interview" with Tom Friedman that consisted of The Mustache of Understanding standing in front of a camera at Davos -- at what is almost literally the opposite end of the cultural, political, climactic, ethnic and economic Universe from everything that is happening in Egypt -- to yap out platitudes about globalism...is such a jaw-dropping failure of journalism at every level and triumph of lazy, Villager clique insiderism that it almost defies parody.

The American mainstream media is a satire on itself.

Saw a tweet from egypt saying the looters are mainly police who took off their uniforms trying to create fear and desire to retain police state. this is going unreported in our joke of a media. my only comic relief is sheep blitzer looking like he was wetting his depends when reporting on escaped convicts. ;) baaaaaah!

Yes, David Gregory was back to being the total full-time idiot we all know and despise.

The Sunday gab fests, like the Tea Partiers, are becoming walking examples of Poe's Law. You can't effectively make fun of something that's already ridiculous. Tom "I Have My Own Mansion" Friedman at Davos discussing unrest due to citizens being poor and disenfranchised...

I loved "shit the journalistic bed".

Husband had CNN on until I started screaming. All I heard was "looting! "looting!" "2000 prisoners ESCAPED!" "Mummies desecrated!" The same stupid stories over and over, same stupid interviews, same embarrassingly ignorant "newspeople" gibbering meaningless... gibber.

And not a single mention of Israel or Gaza.

Interesting that the MSM reports that Museums are being looted but have NOT picked up reports that Cairo citizens formed a human chain around museums to PROTECT Museums from looters.

Also, have not seen MSM reporting that the looters might be plain clothes police OR that Mubarek may have released prisoners to cause mayhem in the streets.

Libertarian stooges here in the US are flooding the message boards trying to make ridiculous comparisons between Iran and Egypt.

When confronted with a situation like this, all these many PNAC stooges are doing their best to turn it into yet another reason to attack Iran.

The villagers don't know what to say or do, because if anything like this ever went down in this country they'd be on the receiving end of what they are seeing in Egypt.

US Blues, that's why they're hoping this quickly goes away and stops troubling their dreams. They are all so high breathing each other's farts that they are shocked, shocked I tell you, that such a long-standing US-friendly regime finds its self in such a tight spot; sticky wicket as they used to say.

The average Merikan does not know that we pay off Egypt every year for being the one Arab country to not be at war with Israel; I suspect the dancing in neocon-land has seriously picked up tempo lately.
