The Prattle Hymn of the Republicans

Because if "The Pettysburg Address" lacked one thing, it was a soundtrack.

Bonus Talking Point: The fact that a few on the Right are acting temporarily less berserk is to the catastrophically overheating reality of American Politics....

...as a pretty snowfall in Chicago is to the
catastrophically overheating reality of Global Climate Change.

Nice, but statistically irrelevant.

OMG. There is no way to parody these people.

Always wondered what happened to Tex and Edna Boil

The guy actually has a good voice. This is awesomely retarded (yes I used the 'R' word).

Cretins of the highest caliber.

These people are sadly not alone in actually believing and perpetuating this total gibberish.

On the one hand - a laughably idiotic self-parody of what's wrong with the Tea Party. I see the Bible up front. What? No flag and/or guns?

On the other hand, all these useful idiots not only vote, but would be happy to ferret-out/imprison/punish all the "evil libruls" should fascism ever take hold in this country. And yes, I'm serious.

Ooooo--Tex and Edna Boil! Next stop, the Prairie Warehouse!

Watching that, it's impossible not to feel elitist.

Hmm. That was suitably cringe-worthy....

Remarkable what one can do in the complete absence of self-awareness.

That took forever to, um, not load, thus proving that there is indeed a Just and Beneficent God.

Different POV from me - I feel sorry for people like this. That comes from reading Joe Bageant's web site

http://www.joebageant.com/

Joe Bageant describes such people as receiving contemptuous treatment, working hard in a constant struggle to survive, getting little or no treatment for health problems, seeing no hope. He comes from the redneck section of society ...

Wow, the only things that are missing are a twanging mouth-harp, a Confederate flag, and a big haired reverend who looks like a cross between Mr. Haney and Boss Hogg!

Just realized that the tune of GGH would be a little incongruous with a Confederate battle-flag (AKA "Old Inglory"). But on the same note, I suppose you could take the tune of "Dixieland" to write a parody song about how sick and wrong Confederacy-nostalgia is.

just as painful as it was yesterday...

A Buddhist friend laughed at me when I told him that the US was too smart to pay much attention to people like Sarah Palin...
this is NOT YOUR America anymore you freakin' elitist!

on a different note from C&L's blog roundup...

"This is America, where a white Catholic male Republican judge was murdered on his way to greet a Democratic Jewish woman member of Congress, who was his friend. Her life was saved initially by a 20-year old Mexican-American gay college student, and eventually by a Korean-American combat surgeon, all eulogized by our African American President.” –Allen Ginsburg "

And thus Bil said: "laughed at me when I told him that the US was too smart to pay much attention to people like Sarah Palin..."

No. No, we're really not. Bush "dubya" was elected. (Sort-of.) We doubt global climate change. We doubt evolution. We wear magnetic bracelets from convenience stores to "align our energy" rather than eat better and exercise occasionally.

"Tide goes in. Tide goes out. You can't explain that."

These two are Exhibits A and B in the case against initiative and referendum.

I am also pretty sure this was recorded in a Houston church that has a 9/12 leader/preacher. It is a hotbed - if indeed that term can be applied in the present circumstance - of Tenth Amendment fervor.
