"Stuff I'm sure you've heard elsewhere" edition.
At the Mouse Circus, people were positively obsessed with polls.
But I am not, so fuck 'em.
The most unusual site on Sunday was Christiane Amanpour on “This Week” continuing in vain to try to convince Americans that other countries exist (With leaders! And everything!) by booking someone named “Tony Blair” who was apparently once the tribal chieftain of a group called the Britons.
Advancement in the dry cleaners’ art have made it possible for this "Blair" person to almost almost completely get the imprint of George Bush’s ass-crack out of his lovely, Saville Row suit.
And – oh goodie! – he’s got a book out.
Then George Will, Tom Friedman, Paul Krugman and Mary Jordan played Duck, Duck, Goose until Friedman cried and his Mommy came and broke it up.
Before the show I bet myself these four things would come to pass:
That friedman would dress in what his tailor has convinced him is cool, ninja-black badass…
but actually just Patrick McGoohan's Number Six suit from “The Prisoner”
with all the piping ripped out.
That Friedman would address Christine repeatedly by her first name “Christine, let me tell you what I would tell Barack Obama”.
That Friedman would stuff his massive Mustache of Understanding into the camera and earnestly unspool one, insipid, blindingly-obvious bumper stick about “what we need to do” after another…without one whisper of a hint about how any of the things he says we need to do are supposed to get done.
And that Roosevelt or the New Deal would be invoked.
Well, three-out-of-four isn’t bad.
Friedman did say one thing with which I quite agree: in his +21 years in Washington he has never seen an Administration that sucked so bad at messaging.
An example of this phenomenon in action: On “Meet the Press” , CNBC's Erin Burnett eventually had to remind Little Richie Lowry after he got done lying about the stimulus that
A) Although it was too small, the stimulus did, in fact, work andSo to grind on Obama for
B) Obama did the stimulus first.
A) Ignoring the economy and focusing on health care, anddepends entirely on ignoring the fact that none of that is true.
B) The stimulus failing
Venomous little twats like Lowry should have been bugs on the windshield of this Administration a year ago: instead, venomous little twats like Lowry are framing virtually all of our pre-election debates.
Ah well, what is Truth anyway?
Be seeing you.

orgy-porgy, orgy-porgy . . .
It is odd, considering Rahm is practically the One In Charge- that so many Obama Slanderers are still alive let alone going on TV shows.
Very strange.
Drifty -
I have to throw into the mix some superficiality: what the hell was going on with the Porn 'stache's shoulder pads on that suit? Did no one tell him to sit on his coat tails? To keep his elbows off the table?
He was shrugging more than a French cabbie in August.
But the other thing I thought was funny was the way that he said whatever Krugman said but two questions later.

Rats! I missed Krugman slapping Will around again!
I just figured it would be wasted hours of:
The Dems are going to be killed in November because...
The Dems are going to be decimated in November because..
The Dems are going to be massacred in November because...
(plug in hack, discredited repub strategist / election loser)
Did I really miss anything?
