Don't Feel Too Bad

Once in a while, everybody loses faith.

And patience.

And forgets just what kind of thunderbolts are at your service

when you are on the side of the angels.

I really like this movie. Duvall directed and its important for many to experience. Living in an area that has many Evangelicals of a chrismatic persuasion...you can see how they may live their faith in a peaceful manner. Not in the judgmental/political/"conservative" sense, but nearer their own heart.

Unfortuantely, the only way many folks get to see this side of America is as a characture or in the oily, self-righteous, hypocritical sense.

That the the guy is a sinner and on the run from the law doesn't dilute his faith or the faith he inspires in others.

Oh, I love that movie. One of the only movies -- actually, one of the only times I "got" faith and religion. And Duvall was so terrific.
