an unhinged, paranoid white trashican like Glenn Beck would have spent his days screaming at strangers on public transportation, and his nights picking imaginary bugs out of his hair.

But thirty years later, deranged, paranoid screamer Glenn Beck is instead paid millions of dollars every year by fascist billionaires like Rupert Murdoch to act out his audience's creepiest political assassination fantasies live on teevee, and tell the millions of deranged, paranoid, screaming, imaginary-bug-picking white trashicans who hang on his every word that the Black President is out to kill them.

This is how the Reagan Revolution finally finishes its long, slow murder of the Party of Lincoln.

UPDATE: And this

is how you conduct a proper forensic autopsy of the corpse.

That was nice to watch. "You called me a liar?" Yeah, damn right he did. Along w/ Begala calling Palin half a whack job (only half?) it's nice to see some media types growing a pair. But the questions I want to see posed at some point to Grassley or Cornyn or Baucus, or any Congressperson who opposes reform, are 1) Why can't we just let everyone have access to the same health care plan that Congress has?, and 2) if not everybody can have that, then what makes Congress entitled to it and not everybody else?
It drives me nuts that every politician demagoguing against government-run health care has government-run health care.

Hey, I heard a local wingnut state that "healthcare is NOT a right!". He did so loudly and on the record at a local townhall for a winger politician. Refreshing in it's honestly, stunning in it's douchebaggery.

Comrade--
So close, but I think if you look closely you'll find it's Teddy Roosevelt. I can see the resemblance, though.

So Teddy Roosevelt was secretly Stalin?

Come to think of it, you never did see them standing side-by-side....

Worked for a group of doctors that I had agreed to extend my temp job with after I got the previous manager fired. She was stealing big time.

After about a year, the head doctor came into my office and introduced me to a consultant. I took the consultant around and told the staff to answer any questions that he had.

I'd heard nothing about this, so I stripped all of the company keys off of my keychain. Packed all of my personal items. Handed my company keys to the consultant. Then I left. I gave the consultant my personal phone number at home and spent the rest of the day renting storage and packing everything but my "need on a trip" items.

The next day the consultant called me and asked me to meet him in the parking lot. I thought great, I hope they remembered to cut my regular check, my vacation pay check and my share of the pension and profit sharing plans checks. All of which would have allowed me to go live on Padre Island for a year.

The consultant is driving and not saying anything. Then at the restaurant, he asked,"Why are you working for this pack of assholes? There is a group of 40 doctors in Cleveland that will pay you $120,000 per year with full benefits and 25 per cent pension and profit sharing, with immediate vesting. And they won't interfere with you."

And I thought, Oh shit, now I don't get a year off.

I worked for the original doctors for another 3 and half years and never took a single thing out of storage. If any of them had so much as gave me a cross look, I was ready to go.

Somewhere there is a letter from the consultant stating that I was far and away the best practice manager that he had ever met.

He, also, set me up in consulting.
He would get overbooked and refer them to me on the understanding that I would charge twice as much for everything as he did.

In the late 1980s, I worked for a group of doctors with "unlimited" time off. On the books, I made $50,000. Off the books consulting, I made another $120,000. Consulting is fine, but I could not stand the doctors.

I never did one consultation where the doctors did not make more in the first year from my recommendations than for what my fee was. Has to do with workmans comp, telephone contracts, building and property insurance and investment of pension monies. I could ask for three items and save the group, at least, $30,000 per year.
