I For One Look Forward
To President Grassley continuing to share his plans for the American people with the rest of us.
I don’t recall the precise details of his election, and I don’t remember the exact date when the American public voted large Republican majorities into both Houses of Congress in order to make it easier for him to work his will, but I’m sure one of those lesser-known Senate procedural rules or traditions makes it all as legal as seawater.
After all, 9/11 changed everything.

I wish you could have used the full length shot so Sen Baucus could have been apparent in it, even if only the back of his head and bottom of his shoes were recognizable.
I just have to share this email by Phil Gingrey, Republican crazy from Georgia, Suggesting the 2nd amendment trumps the Presidents right to be free from assasination. As follows:

Dear Ms. Miller:
Thank you for contacting me to express your opinion regarding our constitutionally-protected Second Amendment rights. As your Congressman, I appreciate hearing your thoughts and welcome every opportunity to be of service.
As a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, I believe our nation has more than enough existing gun laws, and we need to work to enforce existing laws. Increasing gun control will only compromise the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens, and it will offer no positive answer to crime. For example, Washington, D.C. has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet it also has one of the highest crime rates in the nation. Crime is reduced by holding criminals accountable for their actions, not by adding layers of gun control.
As the author of Fairness in Firearms Testing Act, I have made it one of my primary responsibilities in Congress to defend our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. I have been committed to working with other like-minded Members of Congress to develop a legislative strategy to protect our gun rights. Please be assured that I will continue to vote in favor of the Second Amendment and against any legislation that infringes upon the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.
Again, thank you for sharing your concerns. If you feel that I may be of additional assistance on this, or any other matter of importance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. I also invite you to sign up for my weekly email newsletter, or to share your ideas and opinions, by visiting my website at http://gingrey.house.gov or emailing me at gingrey.ga@mail.house.gov.
Hey, if you're a Republican wing nut and you're not getting your way, assassinating the President is not a problem. I think they need a dose of their own medicine, it is apparently the only thing they understand. Reason will get you NO WHERE, I tried too.
Exactly, dg.
And knowdoubt, I can't understand why we're not more alarmed by what people carrying guns at Presidential appearances says about our country.
Well, I for one am friggin' alarmed.
But we live in a country where thousands can march against a war; and it doesn't make the news.
Why Are We Not Alarmed:
Maybe because its a blatant attempt to scare us? To make our representatives stop having Town Halls, to stop the President from talking directly to the people, to scare progressives away from the above events?
And I think the Senator's name is "Gassly" or maybe "Gassy". Phew!
very interesting blog!
