Another 30-hour day ahead

Yeesh.

But in my mind I'll be following Commander Cody's advice and tearing up some road in a Hot Rod Lincoln.

The brakes are good.

Tires...fair.

I love that song. I never had a hot rod Lincoln, but I'm ready to tear up the road in my Honda 2006 Civic LX.

Still gotta watch my speed!

Road trip?

"it's 106 miles to Chicago, we gotta full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses"

Watch yer six.

AS were Elvin Bishop's bands, Tower Of Power, Lydia Pense And Cold Blood, and a host of others in the Bay Area Scene in the early to late 60's, one could find John Lee Hooker, and Commander Cody's Lost Planet Airmen in any Berkeley or SF ballroom, beer joint or tavern on any Friday or Saturday night.

Cody, Billy C Farlow on Git, Bill Kirchen on git, Andy Stein on fiddle and the INCREDIBLE and legendary Bud Black on pedal steel.

Musta seen this group 10 or 15 times or more in a 7 year period, all over the Bay Area.

And always it seemed, they was tagged to John Lee's shows.

I'm STILL lost in the ozone. Again. *G*

Nice hit, Drifty, as always . . . you SURE you weren't a Bay Area Child in another lifetime? LOLOLOL

Put in the work, brother, but then make sure you make some time for yourself. The rewards are better.
And I'll cast another vote for "one of the favorite tunes from back in the day." Smooth, quick guitar work, an almost spoken-word vibe, and a finale line that even a half-rural white boy could get the beat to--"You're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that HOT...ROD...LINCOLN."
